For the past few years every time I visit my parents grave I find fairly fresh flowers on it.
It took me a while to figure out who was doing it. It was a family member of a family our family was close to. |

They caught some lady doing that around here years ago, they searched her house and it was packed with hundreds of Knick knacks taken from graves and every cemetery within 40 miles, statues, planters, candles, angles, flower pots, etc. her house was filled, flower beds etc. she used cemeteries as a free hobby lobby.

Some low life flower stores have been known to go pick them up afterwards and resell them again |

There's a mortar and pestle on my wifes headstone, and a couple times when I went somewhere that she had liked to go I bought keychains and then dropped them in there. Then I went back, and someone had stolen them. I go back and trim around it sometimes, but I don't leave anything there anymore.

I wonder what she was stealing them for. The foam and saddles are expensive at Hobby Lobby. We check the trash bins when we go visit Dad's grave. Usually there are some flowers in the bins and Mom recycles the foam and saddles into arrangements for Dad's and the Grandparents and Aunts headstones.

They have a name for shit-stains like that. Grave robbers are called "Ghouls"
we had a surveillance out in the middle of nowhere, by an old salvage yard over by Summit, OK a few years back One of the residents worked at a local cemetery (ironic, because he's a resident at the same cemetery now) they always had fresh flower arrangements covering their porch (the purloined floral arrangements had nothing to do with our observations at the residence...it just showed what kind of ghouls we were dealing with at the moment) |

I thought for sure that this was going to be someone discovering that the cemetery's groundskeepers occasionally clean up all of the stuff people leave, so the place doesn't end up looking like a garbage dump full of decaying flowers and assorted plastic trinkets.
