My response in this situation would be “I hope so!”. The chicks I slept with generally had lots to offer, were interesting, and most later did something with their lives.

I was 27 and the 23 year old woman I had been dating came over and said "We need to talk." We sat down on the couch and she said "I'm late." We talked, I told her I wasn't an asshole and wasn't going anywhere, and she laughed and said "Psyche!"
Me: "Uh....what?" Her: "I was late, but did finally have my period. I just wanted to see how you'd react." The relationship didn't last long after that, thanks to that and other things she did. |

Right now the poll sits at 206 votes.
81 of the respondents have had the Admiral Akbar treatment sprung on them. Attached File That’s 39 percent. So ASSuming we take this as a random sample and apply it to the overall population of (just American???) women, then it is safe to ASSume that easily a third (plus) of the women you meet are psychopathic enough to try the “I might be pregnant” crap on you. That is a very dangerous game to play. |

A cluster of them would do it whenever an older sister was pregnant, and was willing to pee on the sticks for the girls. I never got hit with that in high school, but a girl tried it on me in college. Issue was, we never had sex. She was drunk, I dropped her off in her room, and left. Her story folded pretty quick when her roommate backed up my side. Had a girlfriend pull a fake pregnancy on me when I was getting ready to dump her. I suspected her of cheating, and told her we could do a DNA test to figure things out when the kid was born. She didn't like that, claimed she had an abortion, but later told a girlfriend that she faked everything. The third time it happened to me, the timing didn't make sense with her monthly cycle. It did line up with our six month anniversary, her 30th birthday, and my start up company getting acquired. She brought me the stick, I said great let's get another test kit and do it again. She got angry, refused, got angrier when I pointed out she had her cycle since the last time we had intercourse, then said it must have miscarried. Yeah, I chose poorly. Mistakes were made. |

My college sweetheart, I was literally her Sorority's Sweetheart for my senior year.
Her pregnancy scare was a a bit premature. She had missed her period by a not insignificant amount of time and after being regular as clockwork her whole life she was in a panic. She needed to confide in me and get my support before she could take an at home pregnancy test, which luckily turned out to be negative. It worked out for the best, our lives diverged significantly after university with our careers and the long distance relationship we ended up with did not last long. I was in zero financial position to have a child at that point and at least for me abortion wasn't an option. For her, I don't know if abortion was an option or not. She was semi-devout Catholic (went to church when back home with parents). We were definitely in love at that time, it came at the high point of our relationship when we were closer than any College couple I've ever seen. Would it had been a blessing or a curse? Hard to say honestly. I haven't seen her in about 25 years now, but i do know from social media that like me she never had any children. She's divorced now and I've been happily married for 14 years. I don't regret the way things worked out, but I don't celebrate it either. I have a weird mix of feeling about it. Maybe there is some atlernative timeline universe where we're married with chidlren and everything worked out? Maybe there is one where it would have been a living nightmare of marriage, divorce, and ongoing custody issues? At my age you can play the "what if" game a lot, but it is what it is and I try not to look back too much in life. Whatever else the past is, it's gone. |
