Hey guys,  had another random impulse,  to get a cool replica historical Bible.     Do they make those?    Something that looks like it came from crusades, something the Vikings would of found, etc.          Half cool factor half to read.     Any ideas ?

Really old stuff won't be in english.

I would probably search antique bible on ebay and choose a real one that looks interesting.

A Bible from era of the Crusades (1050 - 1300) would be handwritten (calligraphy) in vulgate Latin and illuminated (illustrated and fanciful designs incorporated in the text) codex hand bound by monks.

These people  supposedly sell one reproduction religious codex (not a Bible), but their King James Bible are post printing press (1611).  Their codex is shipped insured for $2K, so it probably isn't cheap (if it ever is sold again).

Or you could drop $25K on this reproduction  of the Crusader's bible on parchment but the binding looks modern.

At least 3 centuries too late for the Crusades (1050 - 1300 AD) and almost 600 years too late for Vikings to have looted (793-1066 AD).  The KJB was commissioned in 1604 and printed in 1611.

Doesn't have to be specifically from those times.    Was just using examples.   One not in English would be cool too.  Bookshelf show and tell .
