I'm planning to do a bunch of work on this one over the winter. Most of the mechanical stuff is done, now to take care of some cosmetic issues, including paint...

Thanks, it's a real factory black GTX with the numbers matching original 440 built to 523 HP at the crank, modified 727 with a 9.5" torque converter and 4.10 Sure Grip 8.75 rear. Built not bought, I did all of the work myself except for the final paint which a frend sprayed in the booth at the dealership where he worked.

Thank you, I'll pass on the compliment! It is the lady's car, she picked it up a few weeks ago. She's very happy with it, lol.

My 2005 is lowered 1 inch on 18 inch 285/40s with a bit of room.   Wheels are 10 or 10.5, they were on car when I got it but are typical LMR or AmericanMuscle FR500s.

Tons of guys lowered on 315s in the back, they have huge wheel-wells and the fenders are rolled from the factory.  Hell, you can run 315s all around for the track if you get the offsets right.

I've seen plenty of 315's on the mid-2000's, I just wasn't sure if Ford kept building 'em that way.

I've had only manual cars my entire life and while I have always been a MT snob... I went with the M-DCT. Reason being is after taking a 458 Italia around Las Vegas Raceway a couple years back I haven't been the same since and while it's not a fair comparison, the BMW's DCT is really really good.

This is a 2016 with the executive package, full adaptive LED lighting, and adaptive M suspension. This car is Jekyll and Hyde. You can start her up in econogranola mode and just quietly and unassumingly drive about town, picking up groceries and the kids from soccer and then head to the golf course to ruin a good walk. The ride is smooth and quiet and very forgiving of rough roads. It seriously feels like a luxury sedan (because it is!). You can adjust how aggressive the computer shifts for you in auto mode so it feels just like any autotragic unless you stick her in sport shifting mode. Or you can set the auto to shift like you would in manual/sequential mode and it'll keep it in gear all the way to redline. It will always give you the gear you want and immediately as long as it recognizes the next lower gear won't put the motor at or above redline (no more money shifting). It rev-matches downshifts for you making them smooth and perfect every time. It is a really smooth experience and while there can be slight kicks with sport+ and isn't as fast as a Ferrari or Porsche DCT, I have zero complaints.

Now when you put everything to sport+ (leave the steering in comfort because there's no point to ever go with anything else on a full electronic steering system), the DCT to manual mode and traction control all the way off - the flaps open up in the exhaust and it sounds pretty dang good for a stock exhaust. Then open her up and be prepared to be taken for a ride. The thing spins and gets sideways in first, chirps the shift to second gear, and just is a fackin torque monster almost all the way to redline (there seems to be a flat spot at about 6.5k) where I'm guessing the ECU is backing off boost/fuel. But before you know it you look down (because you still aren't used to the fact you have a HUD) and you're doin about 125, hypothetically. I only ever do the speed limit on public roads.

Cornering? Well, just from the little hooning I did around town the turn in is excellent, dry traction is really good even with the meh continental sport tires (still pissed I didn't get the Michelin Pilot Power Sports but they've been having manufacturing shortages), steel brakes have amazing initial bite but will be changing those out with some Hawks and decent fluid for my first track day since I've heard they do fade (have yet to experience it).

Other than that I can't think of anything else you won't already find in a video review but I am extremely happy with how it performs both as a grocery getter and as a track-day ready car.

I'll never figure out why they hide everything.

However, that CF "boomerang" from the radiator support to the strut brace is gorgeous.
