I picked up the batman trilogy on blu ray and watched the dark knight rises. Still awesome, and they fixed the audio issues that were present in the theatrical release.

the third season of Eastbound and Down w/ Kenney F***ing Powers, still just as stupid and funny as the first two seasons

Moonrise Kingdom - a quirky drama about two young teens running away from home. Set in a 1965, small New England island community

Leprechaun
A smoking hot young Jennifer Aniston is terrorized by a Leprechaun looking for his stolen gold coins. Ridiculous, but watchable. |

Just watched John Carter last night. Had no interest in seeing it in theaters. Watched it last night on demand. Wasn't a terribly bad movie. I can see why it flopped but can see why people said they enjoyed it.

Watched The Avengers...saw it in the theater, this time on DVD. Great movie.
|
"Rockin' the Casbah one day at a time"
|
"The Blue Angel."
Depressing movie, particularly when you realize that one of its stars emigrated to the US after Hitler took power, another collaborated with the Nazis, and the third was murdered at Auschwitz. But Marlene Dietrich was sexy and I totally understand Blazing Saddles now. |

Looper... What a pathetic movie.
The whole premise of the movie is a plot based around a group of individuals that kill people sent from the future for the sole reason that it is impossible to kill in the future and get away with it. Watching the movie.... obviously they can kill people in the future. So why the whole send them back in time thing? Why even depend and spend money on this debacle of a scheme? Why not just kill whoever you need to kill and send the body back in time if you really can't have dead bodies around... Incredibly pathetic movie. But... I watched the whole thing. |

Jack Reacher
I enjoyed it. I didn't read the books, so I guess I don't get why Reacher needed to be bigger, as size has nothing to do with intimidation. I would recommend it to my friends and was entertained. |

Season 1 of Copper - about a NYPD Detective who works in New York's Five Points neighborhood (a very poor, immigrant area), set during the Civil War, 1864
I liked it, sort of an urban western. it's on BBC America |
|
|
the new Total Recall - a darker, more 'serious' take on the first version. Even Jessica Biel and Kate Beckinsale couldn't save this one (but they are nice to look at )
While watching it, all I could think of was the cheesier Arnold version meh |
|
|
watched season 1 of big bang theory, on season 2 now.
The Hobbit was pretty good as well. Bram Stoker's Dracula on as i type this |
|
|
Justified - season 3 - I started watching this when it aired but fell behind and gave up.
Now I'm trying to watch the whole third season before Jan 8 when season four begins So far I really like season 3 (watched 9/13 episodes so far) |
|

watching season 3 of the League - Ruxin, Taco, Andre . . . I just sit there and laugh out loud

Don't Make Waves (1967)
Tony Curtis is put in the enviable position of having to choose between Sharon Tate and Claudia Cardinale. He gets both. |

Just finished season 4 of The Unit. Got all 4 seasons at Walmart on Black Friday for $40. Not a bad deal. It was cheasy at some parts, but overall not a bad series. Too bad it only went 4 seasons.

Watched Street Kings the other night. Pretty bad ass as cop movies go.

Marriage is like poker. In the begining it's two hearts and a diamond. Later it's a club and a spade.

My son and I sat down and watched HBO's "John Adams" yesterday: the whole thing, back to back to back.
Some things didn't quite seem right to me, so when my son asked something I couldn't answer, I turned to the internet and was aghast at what I discovered! Although "John Adams" won every award for a TV production you can name. it was rife with inexplicible errors and omissions. I won't go into it because it's simply too much. But, if you're interested, here's a link to an article about it. Check it out - and be sure to read the comments, too. They're filled with additional instances of the mini-series being flat out wrong. What's wrong with HBO's John Adams? Why they would do what they did is a mystery to me - especially considering McCollugh (sp?) was onhand for much of the production. Why would he allow them to sully his reputation for outstanding historical research and his reputation, in general? I mean, had I not searched, I'd not know about the way they fucked his book al to hell, but still . . !!! |

Saints and Soldiers: Airborne Creed, by the same people that made Saints and Soldiers.
Three US Paratroopers try to re-join their units after getting separated during jump over France. If you liked the first movie, you will like Airborne Creed. |

Watched The Bourne Legacy and Looper last night. Enjoyed both, didn't love 'em or hate 'em, and have no plans to watch either agin.

As I understood it, the issue was with getting rid of the body and physical evidence in the future "future." Even if they killed them then and sent the body back, trace evidence might still be an issue. Just a guess. I just dismissed it so that I could try to enjoy the story, one of many such things I had to do that with in that movie. I had a much bigger nit to pick toward the end, but there's no way to mention it without posting a major spoiler for anyone who hasn't seen it/might want to. |

Theater wise I saw Zero Dark Thirty last Saturday. Watched as a Police-Detective movie it rocks.
Movie as a whole I'm re-watching $ (Dollars) that I TiVo'd the other night. I saw it in the theater when it first came and I look for it every time it shows up in the listings. |

I hate going to funerals.
"He should have killed me. I would have killed me." For God and Country: Geronimo! Geronimo! Geronimo! |
Just watched Iron Sky on Netflix. Space Nazis. Sci fi comedy minus the comedy.
I did enjoy the 1945 tech moon base and space craft. |

watched a comedy called Pitch Perfect
about college a cappella groups competing for national championships. I liked it, pretty funny (I don't watch Glee ) |
|
|
New show on Cinemax called Banshee. It's pretty good so far.
|
|
|
also watching the first season of Homeland w/ Claire Danes and Damian Lewis.
About a CIA analyst (Danes) following a Marine (Lewis) rescued from captivity in Iraq after eight years. It's very good, w/ a lot of suspense and good pacing. I can see why it is an award winning show |
|

Been on a Dexter marathon. All the way up to Season 7 episode 5. It's good.

The Expendables2 good movie.

|
Started watching the old Tom Baker run of Doctor Who. I barely remember these growing up. You know, the effects and some of the acting was as cheesy as I remember but the stories themselves aren't too bad at all. Finished "Genesis of the Dalek" last night. Forgot how much gunplay there was.

Watched Savages this morning, not impressed...couldn't make it through without falling asleep. Seriously, RPG's in Laguna Beach? I almost turned the movie off in the first 10 or so minutes after the chick muttered "I had orgasms, he had wargasms"....
Should have rented Expendables 2! |
|
Stuff I learned from A-Team: 1)Always pity da fool 2)Carry wire cutters (you may need to defuse a bomb or start a car) 3)Never trust a crazy fool 4)Carry grenade launcher/machine guns in the van 5)Know how to weld 6)Love It When A Plan Comes Together
