The Purge - Election Year

a presidential candidate (who wants to end the Purge) is targeted for assassination during the Purge.
this one had the usual Purge action, and the ending was weak

The Accountant.

It is very well done.

You have to kind of ignore some things like suppressed rifles sounding louder than unsurpressed..but. that is typical of H'wood.

Afleck was good as was Kendricks.

Great story. It is worth seeing at the theatres

Purge - Election Year

Garbage.  Although one of the heroes had a Serbu Super Shorty, which I've never seen in the movies before

Independence Day: Resurgence

20 years after the first movie, the aliens return for round two.
The action seemed too video game like, too many cliché story lines,
this one was not very good, stick to the original

X-Men: Apocalypse

I like the 20th century reboot that started with X-Men: First Class and I liked this second movie in the series too.

I wish they would have mentioned that Scott Summers (Cyclops) was from Anchorage like in the comic books, but whatever.  Good movie, if you are a fan of the X-Men comic books.

Took place when I started reading the X-Men comics, in the early 80's, when it was getting rebooted from the original series in the 1960's.  This all makes sense to a comic book fan of the X-Men.

Awesome movie with stunning battlefield action scenes.

Money Monster

a working class schmoe takes a stock market show host hostage,
wanting answers to why the host's top recommended stock buy went bust (schmoe lost $60K)

a lot of twists and turns in this one, it was decent
stars George Clooney and Julia Roberts

3 Days to Kill

Kevin Costner is an old timer CIA assassin.
Finds out he has a terminal brain disease that will kill him in 3 months
He tries to make up for lost time with his teenage daughter and estranged wife.
CIA tells him he can have an experimental drug that may cure him, if he goes on one more job.

some humor, some action, a sweet Father/Daughter story.
it was OK.

The Man from Laramie

a classic western starring Jimmy Stewart.

Stewart brings a mule train full of supplies to a small western town.  He's also looking for the man selling guns to the Apache, used to massacre his little brother's US Cavalry unit.  He runs into trouble with a cattle/land baron in the small town.
