Title basically. All the sources on the net say the Democrats perform better with the economy, but I noticed in 2017-2021 that my personal financial situation had gains under the Trump admin. Obviously I support the 2a, but finances are also at the top when I vote for a candidate.

Thank you all!

Going back to the late 90's I've always done better when a D is in office. Could be just coincidence.

So if a Dem gave you a better "financial situation", they haven't in my lifetime, you would vote for them over the 2A?

No. Not likely at all. I just see a difference between people I know in what they say regarding financials (this is people of all age ranges) in comparison to research.

Generally (R) administrations, however, my success is not based on what party holds power in office.

Being precise with my spending instead of accuracy by volume means I keep and manage more.

I am spending more lately, due to my new POE and its location, but the salary more than makes up for the cost.

I've been laid off when a democrat was in the White House.  Can't remember that happening to me when a republican was in the White House.

This, but in terms of overall return IDK.

I generally ignore the politicos and make my own financial future, regardless of which swamp creature is in office.

Republican, for sure.

I was set to retire in a few years had we kept the 20/30% returns of the trump time.

It got pushed back 5 years. 49 instead of 44, but still.

The rigged election cost a lot more than most people know.

I make decent money. Not a big spender per se. I don’t really have a house note. Truck is paid off. Little credit card debt. In general, bills aren’t bad. Squirrel away a decent amount. No kids. No wife.

But by the end of the month I feel “broke”. Not really broke but I don’t have the fun money I used to. Four years ago it was pretty fun.

About equal for investments. I don't think stock the market cares.

But inflation? Give me a Republican every time.

My Dad's financial situation was on a major upswing 80-88 . I did well 2000-2008 . Things again were trending well for my family 2016-2020 . I'm making way more money now but it is flying out the window on the other end .

The best I've done financially has been over the last 3 years. Who was in office during that time was not relevant to that success however.

Republicans

Obama's changes to healthcare fucked things up pretty bad.

I did well under Trump, very well.

The inflation under Biden is crippling.

I was still too young and poor under Bush Jr to really know.

Republicans. Whenever Democrats are in power, it seems like I can't afford as much. I'm guessing it's their retarded economic beliefs being put into action speeding up inflation while they change definitions to hide the true numbers.

I was doing good under Trump. I had to change jobs under Obama. Partly because of things he was trying to do with salary workers. I’m not doing as well now under Biden. And he’s thinking about messing with salary workers too. I’m a DINK. Kids all grown kind. But money doesn’t go as far under Biden as it used to.

Remember that correlation doesn't necessarily mean causation. There are also lags in policy effects.

Countries can't tax, "invest" (redistribute tax dollars) or borrow their way into long term prosperity. See the Broken Window Fallacy.

As for me I like the government about evenly split, then the market and other indicators do well.
