If you had to wear one pair of pants for a year what pants would they be? Ideally rugged, abrasion/odor resistant, suitable for hiking/travel, and pockets that are worth a damn.

Duer No Sweat pants.  I have like 5 or 6 pairs.
And wear them all the time.  Hiking, casual, even in the office.

The first pair I bought 10 years ago is now at the point where they officially worn out. I've worn them once a a week at least in that time frame. Very impressive.

I wear cheap canvas work pants from Tractor Supply most days. They can handle everything from business casual to hiking and farm work.

I have a variety of 5.11 pants. They are stitched to fit very well and hold up very well also. Pretty sure I now own about 10 pairs of different 5.11 styles. Excellent pants for the money.

Before I started buying 5.11 I was wearing Wrangler Riggs or Wrangler Ranger…something like that. I liked them at the time. Recently I threw on an old pair for some reason and immediately realized how shitty they actually fit. Took them off and switched.

Kuhl. I like the Radikl for everyday wear - very comfortable with the cotton blend.  For backpacking I really like their Renegade pants.  All synthetic, sheds light rain and dry very quickly.  I just wish they weren’t $100 a pair but thankfully they wear like iron.

Tad Gear force 10 recons. They have a mag holder sewn inside the pocket, and another vertical mag pocket right next to it. Super comfy and durable.
