I’ve had pallets of all kinds of construction materials delivered to my home. They’ve always left them in my driveway by the garage.

I've had a ton of stuff delivered to my new shop.

Lift gate service is an extra 80 bucks usually. They will have a pallet jack.

I'm having a mill delivered here in about 10 days that way.

MRE star.i've got a case or 2 of these.
They're o.k.the meat meals are better than the veggie ones.
The oatmeal cookie is an "acquired taste"--kinda wierd tasting.

Construction materials usually come on lift gate trucks or they have the rail hanger forklifts.

Make buddies with a local feed store or something. Warehouse guys will probably trade receiving for a couple pizzas.

Home alone last night with no food plans so I decided to break out a genuine USA MRE.
So thats why people freak out over the cheese jalapeno spread.
The meal didn't look appetizing but it was decent. The shredded beef was ok but the seperate bean pack was nice and tasty.
The flameless heater worked ok but only gets the 2 pouches warm.

Pic or it didn't happen.

Grab some of the pizza and nacho cheese cups.
Heat it in an oven, in a cast iron pan, or over a fire to crisp it up.
Just as good as under cooked Totino's party pizza.

When I was a kid the big deal was to get some C or K rations. They were pretty good, to me
at least.

When my brother was stationed in Germany he got some French and Italian rations.
Now they were good. There was a lot in each one so I guess one pack was to last
you all day.

The French rations are (typically) 24 hours with around 3,600 calories.
Comes with some fine desserts.

Bring a trailer to the carrier's terminal and pick it up.  If you want your stuff on a pallet, acquire a pallet and transfer your load to the new pallet at home.

Never tried the HDRs (have eaten a few regular and Halal MREs), but I can say the MCW (Meal Cold Weather) rations are absolutely awesome. The entrees are freeze dried MH pouches which makes a very large portion, even rehydrates with cold water and can be eaten that way. Very tasty, looong shelf life of course and great additions like pound cake etc. I actually look forward to having one, rather than choking down a retort pouch entree, no joke. (Infact, I'd eat a commercial Compleat over a retort pouch anyday).

Highly recommended.

ETA: Available on ebay around $145 shipped for 12, so about $12 each, so a bit more expensive than what you're paying for the HDRs

I liked the cold weather meals from the late 80s to whenever they changed them.

I got a case when the national guard were having a big war games here in SW AK.
They fell off the back of a snogo and they were in a hurry so they said to just take them.

In the 80s there was a desert that was called IIRC maple something cake. It
resembled a large soft cookie with chocolate in it. Now that was tasty. I also
like those crackers with the cheese spread on it.

Not really. Aside from the fruit, cold C rats sucked.  I have never seen canned scrambled eggs & ham or canned lima beans & ham in a grocery store; there are probably a few more items that I can't recall.
