I painted a bunch of wood with true value brand primer.  The shit is refusing to dry.

What do?

I'm debating soaking rags in mineral spirits, paint thinner, or acetone and wiping it off.  However, I'm worried I'm going to make an even bigger mess.

Fan blowing over it to circulate air or heat lamps.

How long has it been painted? Is the wood treated?

If it's PT lumber, it'll dry in about 12 weeks.

So few details.
Inside, outside, temperature, humidity, aged or green, pressure treated, type of wood, sanded or not, water based, acrylic or oil...

I soaked a towel in paint thinner and wiped them all off.  Made a cool stained look.

The wood was not PT, it was painted inside, the wood was bone dry.  The paint just fucking sucked.

I'm guessing the paint wasn't mixed correctly.

Were they green when you painted them ?

If so, you just wasted your paint.

Lol
@nobody69s

I wasn't trying to deceive or lie to anyone.  The picture was added to the business's FB page.  I assumed it was his as he really is that good.  I was scrolling through the pics looking for the best one to post.

I had the thread nuked before I arocked my brother or business.

Nope.

It's XO Rust.  I've used it a bunch before on metal and wood.  Never an issue.

An anti-rust enamel on wood.
This is going to be good.

What temperature?  If you are trying to do it below 70 it’s not going to dry very fast.  You have to start with the wood at the proper temperature, in an enclosure the proper temperature, paint at the proper temperature, and let it dry/cure in the proper temperature.  Cold and paint don’t work well together.

A lot of the cheaper paints are slow drying. Rustoleum too. I've painted loader buckets that took a week to dry. Upside was that the paint held up great.

Buy a product called flood.  It’s designed for painting wet salt treated wood.

Takes two coats but I haven’t had any bleed through. Better than the exterior latex I tried the first time, it bled through terribly.
