It's a Twitter post so who knows when this actually happened, but apparently Hawaii legalized open carry of all hand weapons like switchblades, butterfly knives etc as long as they're not completely concealed. Utah similarly has no restrictions on hand weapons unless there's an intent to cause harm. I've never personally seen anyone carry anything but clipped folding knives here |

I just Google'd the Hawaii state Legislature webpage...
https://legislature.ai/bill/US/US_HI/StateLeg/2024/HB/2342 Difficult to say what this is - looks like they made it illegal to conceal switchblades or butterfly knives but doesn't say you cannot possess or carry them otherwise. |

Not that I want to carry, but makes it legal for me to purchase them now. I've been wanting some legit butterfly knives for a while.

View Quote You do realize that this is a ploy by leftists in your state to set a precedent about being able to open carry in the United States, but at one point with no open or concealed firearms being around any longr. And, that being after a comprehensive ban on all firearms has occurred nationwide. Saw it right off in the OP. You still get to fuck around with your butterfly knives all you want though. Eventually though, they'll take all of those away from the public too. Good luck brudda! Lol The Chinese are coming and I can see it plain as day. Their Pearl Harbor upon you. Pull your katana on them then and see what happens next. They don't like anything that resembles Japanese either. Know your fuck stick enemies before you buy! You don't want a Chinese Marine jamming your new knife up somewhere where the sun doesn't normally shine because that would be a waste. Semper FI |

I always pocket carried a Spyderco Pacific Salt when we lived on Kauai. All of the counties (islands) have exceptions for dive knives. It's also bright yellow so no one can say I was trying to hide it.

Hawaii weapons laws are just stupid. As far as I know, they're the only state that has a gun category called "assault pistol", and of course, they're banned.
Overall, Hawaii is a beautiful place, but I would never want to live in that bigoted state. My Hawaiian wife hates it there too. I have always felt like an outsider there, for lack of a better description. It's like I'm not even considered a fellow American there, I'm just a haole from the mainland, a separate category. |

I'm sure some do and Bowie type knives as well. I have only seen this a couple of times in the last three years, but never a sword or a long cutting devise such as a sabre and the like. |

View Quote In some cases their negroes for sure. Those apparently have some sort of chip on their shoulder as well. Politically motivated to some extent in sure. On the other hand I've had Hawaiian and Samoan friends and we got along just fine. Usually, back then, it was the younger crowd or the old school natives that remembered the war years and even before then that were friendly towards mainlanders like us. In my experience, if you liked to party then you came to the right place and they partied hard. Some of them were the best you will find; competent and motivated warriors in the field as you will find anywhere. They loved what they did as far as I could tell. I wouldn't have wanted to be up against them in a tight. |

You have been able to open carry long blades for a long time in HI. Like machete is fine. People do not look twice, either. IT is really weird since they are anti gun.
