I don't have a very heavy beard. I can get away with shaving every couple or 3 days without looking too bad. However, I imagine it would be nice to be able to clean myself up with an electric shaver now and then, in between blade shaving.

What do you guys recommend for this? I appreciate your thoughts and experience.

Is this a good one? (I have no idea) https://us.braun.com/en-us/male-grooming/electric-shavers/series-9-pro-9465cc

Braun Series 9.

Make certain to buy the one with the cleaning station.

The older Series 7 is good too. The newer ones not so much.

Disposable

But when you factor in the price of a new set of blades, it's cheap.

I've been using a Panasonic ES8243A since 2010.  Made in Japan.  It replaced a Norelco that never really cut it for me.

They still make an updated version of it.

So, I've been living with the Braun listed in the OP and I am not sure if my expectations were unreasonable or not. My beard is not thick and it is not heavy, but if I go a few days between using the shaver, it doesn't really seem to get it all. Son, I am dissapoint.

What is the best way to use an electric shaver. Must I shave every day?

I just got my first electric shaver yesterday.

I bought pretty much the cheapest one I could find. $39.95.

Phillips Norelco 2300 rechargeable. I'm sure it will get laughed at but I just wanted to try electric without breaking the bank.

I shaved my head and my very tough, razor killing beard today. Amazing. It works great. I'm totally impressed.

Now lets see how long it lasts.

Please keep us posted on that inexpensive Norelco.

I continue to use the Panasonic Braun I bought. It has trouble getting everything down to the skin in a couple of places where my jaw meets my neck.

this.

Costco had an awesome sale on it while back, might be worth checking.

Braun. It’s blue and I got it at Target. Works fantastic! Don’t know the number offhand.

I'm finding that I have a better shave when I give the shaver more time on any given area. Also, if I  re-orient the shaver face by 90 degrees and/or 180 degrees then go over the area again, that seems to help.

Braun, but it only works the day after I shave. I can not have multiple days growth or I have to use a regular razor.

Yeah, I have to use it daily or it starts to fall behind. Even so, I have a couple of small areas about where my jaw joins my neck that it never really does well on.

Had a Braun I got as a gift. When it died I bought a Remington for less than 50 bucks. Has lasted as long as the Braun, and works just as well.
