"They're" saying it was linked to homeless shelters. But having worked in la migra, there were many of these TB outbreaks that the local propaganda machines didn't report on. Hell, I think those ass-clowns at GEO and G4S stopped testing their detainees for it during processing just to save time/money, letting them out like nothing even mattered

When I worked for the fire department probably 25 years ago I tested positive for TB. I came back to the station and told the chief, some vegetarian from Oregon, he couldn’t believe it, he said TB only exists in Third World countries. I said look around, Kodiak is a Third World country. I had to take a course of prophylactic antibiotics.

Been a thing for awhile, unfortunately. Just wait til the drug-resistant versions show up here! Typhus in LA county, a year or two ago, was the story that gave me your reaction to this: "Typhus?! Really?!!! We're so fucked up we have an Eastern Front disease here now?" |

A lady who we had ran a call on with difficulty breathing, coughed in my face while I was getting her vitals. She never told us that she had TB. 6 months later at my physical my arm swelled up and I got to take INH for 6 months and have blood tests to check my liver enzymes every 2 weeks.  Found out later she had been a patient at our county clinic and definitely knew her status. Worst part about it my wife and 6 month old son also had to be tested.
