I’m picking up a ruger American in 300 blk out and it has the 3 round rotary mag but looks like it can take the the stanng mag adapter in the stock.  I read there is a serial number cut off where even if you put in the insert it won’t pick up a round out of the mag.  While not being able to use ar mags isn’t a deal breaker I’d still like to be able to use them.

The bolts are different also. I'm not sure of the Serial number cutoff for AR15 mags.

My serial number ends in 400 something and came with a 10 round pmag. Not sure if that helps you. 300 BLK gen 1

It's not an issue with the magazine conversion, but the bolt itself being properly machined to use the stanag pattern magazines.  I don't know what the serial number range is, but your bolt has to be set up to use the stanag magazines.

Looks like I have the bolt that doesn’t do ar mags.  Is that an expensive upgrade?  I don’t see any correct bolts for sale anywhere.  Anyone have an idea where one could be bought?
