Molly is fantastic.  She's such a monster picker.

Del McCoury is one my all time favorites. The Del and the Boys album is great start to finish.

Mean Mary on fast banjo - Iron Horse

I couple years ago,  I sent my girlfriend one single song by Mary.  Within two weeks my GF had every album, T-shirts, etc. basically becoming Mary's "biggest fan".

I happen to know Mary a tiny bit, having met her and corresponded a few times over the years.  So I had to play a "prank" on my girlfriend.

I took her to see Mary in Tucson and, after we were seated (dinner theater) I said to my girlfriend, "Oooh,  Hold on,  I want you to meet someone."  I took her straight up and introduced her to Mary.  She about DIED!  It was frikken' GREAT!!!!  I thought my GF was gonna faint she was so thrilled.  Too, it helps that Mary is SOLID GOOD PEOPLE.  So's her Mom and Brother.  Just absolute perfect Americans.

I'm not a big fan of the super twangy traditional stuff.  Modern stuff is a different story.

Trampled By Turtles.
Those boys are fucking amazing.
I've been listening to them since they were a hard rock group. They were touring and someone broken into their van and stole most of their gear.
They were left with their acoustic instruments.

They played their next show with those acoustics and it changed their course forever.
