 14-year-old Boy in Stolen Car Leads Deputies on a Wild Chase Through Several Neighborhoods Fayette County, Georgia — On March 11, 2024, Fayette County deputies located a silver Honda Civic that had been car-jacked at gunpoint earlier in the morning. Investigator Fisher was the first to locate the vehicle at HWY 85 South and Stonewall Avenue and notified dispatch and his fellow Deputies. Inv. Fisher was prepared to initiate a felony stop, as they had multiple deputies in the area. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and City of Fayetteville Public Safety took action and followed the driver on a short pursuit. Sergeant Akin took the lead on the pursuit and followed the driver as he crashed into road signs, mailboxes, and another vehicle, the driver then decided to exit his vehicle with a weapon. He initially exited the vehicle with a gun but decided to surrender when he realized he was surrounded. The driver will be charged with Theft by Receiving, Fleeing, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of Felony, and Possession of a Firearm by a Minor. Later was found out he was only 14 years old. He also faces multiple charges in Dekalb County. |

I knew a guy that did something pretty similar when he was around the same age. He stole his grandpa’s truck and shotgun and went on a brief crime spree, ending with him trying to run a police roadblock. He ducked down before they started shooting and made it out unharmed. Unsurprisingly, he continued to be a piece of shit afterward and he’s in prison for murder now.

if anything needs to be reformed its the juvenile justice system. The juvie system is an absolute joke and is no deterrent. We currently have a 15 year old that has 25 pending stolen vehicle cases and he's out and about.
