Have you ever achieved a goal and wondered if there was a way to preserve a little piece of that story with...say...a pictoral representation of the event?

Not sure if serious.

It's the hunter showing proof of the game they killed.

I honestly have no idea why you are so butthurt about it you needed to start a thread.

I got a hunting dog at seven weeks. I have spent countless hours training her to scent birds, point, hold steady to shot, and retrieve for me.
I'm damn proud of a successful hunt, and a photo is a memento of a wonderful experience and the culmination of the time, effort, and amazing bond we share.

Damnn I  caliber, I want that rifle in that caliber, I heard the BMAG turned out to be a shitty rifle

I have a ton of crows under my belt with my 17 HMR and .22.250 and I think the WSM would be fun on crows and groundhogs

So I took a pic to better remember it an share it with others.

when i was 6 months old, my paternal grandpa died, but before he did, he made it known that he wanted a few things to go to his only grandson, one of which was a remington 760 in 30-06.
i learned to hunt with it, and at the age of 17, i got a good shot at a 4 point buck at 150 yards. after we said a prayer to bless the soul of the animal that died to put food on our table, my dad asked if he could take a picture of me, kneeling beside my buck with my rifle in hand.  him and all 3 of his brothers have a copy of that picture.

Can you explain what's distasteful about it.  Being serious by the way? Hunting is far more demanding then walking in to a grocery store and paying someone to do your dirty work for you. And the entire process is far more respectful of the animal than factory farming.

ETA:  I'll be in my tree stand in about 30 min. Wish me luc .

Tell me, what is distasteful about memorializing the animal, the hunt, and the satisfaction of success. This concept makes no sense to me. Whats distasteful is some smug schmuck even suggesting there is anything about that behavior that needs to be defended or explained.

Not saying your a smug schmuck cuz it seems like a genuine question, but there are more than a few on this site some of which who have showed up already) that will be quick to call us hunters disgusting violent monsters.

It's no different than taking any picture of an event.
Hunting is not about only killing. It's a lot more than that.
Man was created to hunt and gather food.
If someone wants to take a picture to preserve a memory it's their right.
Get over it.

You sound like a disingenuous gun grabber when they try to bullshit people and say "I own a gun, but I don't believe people should own assault rifles."

If you're fragile sensibilities are offended by hunting pictures, then tear up your license and get your meat from the grocery store where no animals are harmed in the creation of your steak dinner.
