A whole bunch of custom cuts n measuring. Looks neat OP... View Quote edit: I know it doesn't really count, b/c I edited, but I think this is the first time in 16 years that i've ever had 1st post on a page, other than OP. |

To build something crooked and leaning doesn't take much effort unless you're doing it on purpose. Then it takes a lot of thought.
Looks cool, I like it. |

That should look nice. My daughter asked for a pink and purple play house, you lucked out on that front (as did your neighbors) in avoiding the Mellencamp color scheme. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

Cool effect, OP.
Takes a lot of extra effort to make things like that. At first I was thinking, "Ok. The deck looks good. I wonder how many beers between the deck and the framing"...then I realized the look you're going for. |

Me too. OP, are you planning on tying it down? If it's just sitting on those blocks, it won't take much wind to blow it over. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

I love it. Very Dr. Seuss style. Your daughter will love it! Oh, and this was a little humblebrag thread ...

like i said. its not going anywhere. that fence has been through 2 hurricanes with 80+mph winds and 3-4 major nor'easters with 50+ mph winds and it is no where near as solid as this thing. it would take a major tornado to move it.

<s>
Congrats OP. You've now trivialized your daughters nesting instinct by building an unserious representation of a home. Do you think finding a mate and rearing children is a joke? She's going to be scarred for life. </s> |

Fences aren't top heavy, standing on blocks, and don't create lift the way roofs do. But as long as you've considered it, and are confident, I'm sure it will be fine. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Looks awesome OP! I can't imagine the headache of measuring all those angle cuts lol
where's the waterproofing / building wrap / rigid insulation / electrical at? |
|
That's awesome, I could only dream to have the talent to build something like that. My son is 2 and I've thought of the same thing, a raised clubhouse.

That's outstanding OP.
Please keep the pictures coming...love to see the final build. |

That takes some degree of talent.
Lots of complex angles. Looks good. |

Coolest dad of the week goes to you my man!
What a great fun project for your little girl. |

Put some of those fun house mirrors inside, some wheels on the bottom, and you can tow it from carnival to carnival. Profit?

That is awesome!
I'm a retired carpenter. I just showed my wife all of the pictures you posted. She thought it was really cool. I do too. I also appreciate the skill it takes to do a project like that. Bravo! |
