All that monitoring and surveillance and secret squirrel teams and such, and nobody noticed the flags going up? Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams issued a statement, saying "If flying a white flag atop the Brooklyn Bridge is someone’s idea of a joke, I’m not laughing.” "The public safety of our city is of paramount importance, particularly our landmarks and bridges that are already known to be high-risk targets,” he said. "We will not surrender our public safety to anyone, at any time. Borough President (informally BP, or Beep in slang) is an elective office in each of the five boroughs of New York City. Borough Presidents currently have little real power within the New York City government. Instead they generally serve as ceremonial leaders who advocate for their boroughs on key issues. I never saw the jet ski article before, that was pretty good and it isn't trespassing when your jet ski conks out and you swim to shore. Everyone who went to law school read the case about the guy forced to shore by a storm who could not be charged with trespass because it was an emergency.
Seems like there is something wrong with the coloring on the flags and the coating or something finally came off over night.

Yeah, but that case we all read was trespass on private lands, not the King's special protected zone. What do you find about my statement? If the guy had swam up to some rich guy's private dock, he wouldn't have been charged with trespassing. But he did the same thing for the same justifiable reason at an airport where the government has made its own special rules, and then its agents got butthurt that the guy dared to set foot on their special tarmac rather than drown. |
