All prices are for a 275/70r18 tire.

The Falken Wildpeak is the cheapest and looks great but isn't that popular.

I just saw the Hankook Dynapro ATM on a truck and loved it.

Nitto is Nitto.

BFG KO2s are very popular but they are pricey and I may be in the minority but I don't think they look that great for an AT tire. Too busy.

I've heard the Cooper AT/3 is the car of arfcom...

help.

Nitto terra grappler are easily the best tire I've ever used. And I've tried nearly every brand over the years. Trail grappler if you want more aggressive

I have the exact same size in the Nitto Terra Grappler. It is a very good tire. I've had the BFGs and I like the Nittos better as they are more quiet on road.

I have these on my Xterra and they are great. I run the crap out of them on and off road and they keep tread very well. Worth the investment IMO

My last three sets have been Nitto. First were the original Terra Grapplers. Good traction, quiet, but wore out in 25K miles. Next were Trail Grapplers, Great traction, Got noisy pretty quick and lasted only 25K again. On the truck now are G2 Terra Grapplers, only because they claim to have made them a 50Kish tire. Very quiet, good traction and hoping to get better wear out of them.

This is on a 2500 Cummins that hauls 2-2.5 K plus in the bed fairly often and pulls a 5-7K lb trailer a few times a month. E rated 285-70-17

What about a Ridge Grappler OP?

It's more meaty than the terras and less meaty than the trails.

Yup, Nittos are hands down better.

Also, on the Ram's the Nittos you can get a little bit bigger size and they don't rub.

The sidewall on those is intense. More grip but I don't think they look great. And they are $$$$

33 is about as big as I go. Maybe 34 if a company doesn't have exactly 33's. Don't really want the added weight and the drop in MPG.

I had the Nittos on my FJ, changed to the Trail Grappler M/T's - really liked them.

running the KO2's on my 4Runner and like them more than the Terra Grapplers, but not as much as the Trail Grapplers. (However, the trail grapplers were noticeably louder)

I have KO2s and like them a lot.
They were stiff as hell (Ram Rebel, stock E-rated tires) for like 2,000 miles.
Now they're a bit mushier.
The traction has been phenomenal - I ditched the Open country AT2s.
Those tires were great, until it rained. Uphill you can spin the tires at like 2000rpms, going easy on the gas pedal - almost got bumped by a compact behind me
Spinning all 4 tires in 4WD, on flat ground coming out of a redlight? That was it.
If I was being an idiot with the gas pedal and they spun, that's on me - I was not, they spun, goodbye.

The KO2s haven't let me down.
Very, very surefooted in snow.

But I will say if you get the KO2s, get them roadforce balanced.
The BFGs are finicky and kinda hard to balance.
2 Separate places balanced them, they were a wobbling/vibrating, after road force balancing they settled down.

I have tried different tires over the years (including Nitto) - but every time I move away from BFG All Terrains I regret it, and go back.

My use is Half-Ton trucks used mainly on roads with often dirt and rocky road use.  Occasionally more extreme off-roading such as running through cactus and mesquite.  Or Colorado trails.

YMMV.

Nitto Ridge Grapplers are in between, and are what my truck currently has.  So far the tread is wearing far better than the Trail Grapplers ever did.

The Coopers are a great tire, but I'm really digging these Ridge Grapplers.

I have a set of the BFG KO2 on my duramax, they are absolute unadulterated garbage.

I've run the old BFG AT's, and Mickey Thompson fun countries, the new KO2's wear like a pencil eraser.  I do a lot of in town driving, lots of dirt roads "soft roading" plow snow, trailer, haul and the traction was fine, quiet enough, stable road manners. They handled weight well.  They took an embarrassing amount of weight to balance and the lasted maybe 15K....maybe.

I will be replacing them this week, I am going Nitto I think.

I bought the Falken Wild Peaks because I was stupid and didn't know any better.  Don't be like me.

The shoulders wear down very quickly, and the wet traction is poor.  After the shoulders wear down, there's very little meaningful horizontal siping on the tire, so you're more or less left with a slick road tire with three channels down the middle.  Buy any one of the tires you listed above before you buy the Falkens.

I ran Nittos for years.
current set are worn out in less than 2 years/26k miles on a 1/2 ton Silverado with rotations and pressure monitoring very light use.
Belts separating in one and tread worn on all.
Nitto don't give a fuck.
I was a fan-boy.
Fuck Nitto.

I had nitto terra grapplers on my F150 and it was unstoppable in mud/snow and dry roads. Handled wet roads great.

Bought the newer version of them Nitto terra grappler G2's for my ram

biggest waste of money I have ever done on tires... pure crap.

I can make them spin just taking my foot off the brake on an upward incline. Terrible wet road manners. passable in snow but nothing I would ever say is good.
dry road they are ok. no better than average.

Basically for the money, they SUCK!  And with only 7500 miles on them they are already about 1/2 tread.  Will never buy the terra grapplers again.

I need new tires also and narrowed it down to basically the same options. I was looking at the falkens, but I'm going with the KO2's even though I wanted to try something else. Sidewall is important for my uses and the KO2 has good reports.

Anything Falken is a shit tire.
Got a set at Discount tire.
Ended up in a ditch cause they slipped on barely wet pavement and couldn't get out of it in 4x high or low even though it was only wet grass.
Took them back and they bought them back in exchange for DuraTrac's.
No problems since, and I put it in the same ditch to see what could happen, got out in less than 2 min in the same conditions.

This is also a shit tire.
Have them on an Exploder.
65000 tread warranty and the guy at the tire shop tells me I need new front tires, they are 1yr old.
Balanced, rotated, air checked religiously. Air checked every 2 to 3 weeks.
I do a lot of highway driving in it, about 90%.
Got them from now defunct Treaddepot.com so Toyo says they need to warranty.

VERY shitty wet traction.

ETA; Wifes suv and my 2500 suburban both wear Wrangler DuraTrac's, not cheap but worth the money.

Exploder will get new shoes before winter, looking into now.
