I'm ready to roll with that shit. Trust and will are completed. Marriage of 37 years ended. No family to speak of. Currently unemployed, running out of money and can't bring myself to go say nice things to some young Mgr in an interview 'cause I know how that shit is going to turn out if they hire me - their customers will love me, they will wish that were not the case.

I'm ready to be done.

I've had first-hand experience with both scenarios.

Many years ago I was ready to check out on the ass-wiping issue, but circumstances prevented me from going through with it.
Although I no longer have that problem, I now don't consider it sufficient cause...providing I have a caregiver to do the wiping.

And being unable to bathe oneself ain't necessarily bad. I have female caregivers who bathe me. It's not at all unpleasant.

I want to die before my wife and child.

I've already lost the only parent that loved me, my first child, and a dozen of my closest friends; I was present for most of their deaths. I don't want to be around to watch my wife and daughter die.

Until I have lost my mind to Alzheimer's.

Pretty sure it's going to happen, it happened to my grand mother, my father and mother both have it, chances are I'm screwed. My father watched it take my grand mother slowly, it made him bitterly despise that disease. And after being diagnosed with it, he told me in a very serious conversation if he ever got that way, he wanted me to take him for a long walk in the woods and make it quick

He refuses to take his meds, he keeps citing all the side effects even though he doesn't know if he will have ANY of them.

I think he's just not fighting it, hoping that it will be quicker that way. Which honestly piss's me off! He still has his children and grand children! We/they still want him around! Fucking disease sucks! It delete's you one small piece at a time, it's horrible. I'd rather go out quickly, or in some blaze of glory.. or quietly in my sleep after a long life, with my mind still intact.
