don't clean it up, then teh rust will spread to all the rest of
your chit & you'll have a matching set,,,,,,, 
or sell it for a camera with a wider range of fuzz control,,,,,, |

It bears a striking resemblance to one of the fine pair of 16-bore self-opening sidelock ejector guns Lord Ripon used to kill over a quarter of a million pheasants in the 19th and 20th centuries. All of his 'bags' were recorded in highly detailed, and sometimes illustrated, game books. In 1986, Sotheby's sold 53 leather-bound volumes of Ripon's records for the seasons 1871-1923 for £48,400.
In find condition the gun would be priceless. As it stands......................

Parker used the Dogs head logo. I don't believe the used an anchor though. I also do not think they made a hammer gun.

Clean up the top of the barrels with steel wool and oil to see if the brand is revealed. Look for the proof marks on the bottom of the barrels.
Lay off the Evap o Rust and electrolysis until the gun is better identified, but judging from the potato cam photos, nothing can be done to damage it at this point. Just don't lose any parts if you start taking it apart. |
