Honestly the largest caliber I've ever fired was a 45-70 (don't own one myself) But the largest projectile I've ever thrown down range came out of a 7' homemade potato gun a plumber friend of mine made. Hot damn that thing was a ton of fun.  Illegal as hell though from what I understand.
