You now have the rifle and there is time for you to train, if needed. http://www.boomershoot.org/2013/Blast.htm It looks like it changed a bit now that a "range" runs it it used to be one guy on his farm tyhat did it, but it may be academic. That would be a fun thing to do with a Barrett. |

Sweet Now I want to paint my M82 View Quote Truth, that thing looks frickin sweeeet! Buckshot, if you and dillehayd want to get together in the fall and really cause a commotion by ripping off 3 barretts at once, let me know. I'll even bring the ammo. *(for the .50, not the .338) |

The M82A1 (what the OP has) isn't designed to be suppressed. Some have canned theirs but it usually voids warranty and is advised against. The can is designed for the M107 or the M99/M95 (if the 99/95 are equipped with the proper brake). The Barrett can is not supported or designed for the M82A1 This is the reason why i'm looking at a M107A1 View Quote When the m107 was announced ~3 years ago I called. Name on wait list. Called again about.using an AAC suppressor. Voids warranty. Ok. Cool...I'll just buy the Barrett suppressor ...... Nope that voids the warranty as well. May have changed since then but that's a lot of fuckery going on IMHO. |

http://www.theonion.com/article/peace-activist-has-to-admit-barrett-50-caliber-sni-234
"While gathering data for a petition letter condemning U.S. policy in Somalia, I was appalled to learn that the Special Forces were using a gun called the Barrett M82A1 to take out trucks from a mile away," Robinson said. "A friggin' mile. Can you imagine?" Last week, a guilt-ridden Robinson bought a copy of Guns & Ammo containing an article titled "The Guns Of Black Hawk Down," which prominently featured the Barrett. "It's a big gun, the Barrett," said Robinson, leafing through the article. "It's about five feet long and weighs almost 30 pounds. It fires the largest widely available cartridge in the world—a machine-gun bullet, really. It can empty a 10-round magazine as fast as you can pull the trigger. And thanks to its ingenious dual-chamber muzzle brake, gases are vented away, and the user feels no more recoil than you get with a 12-gauge shotgun. Not that anyone should know what the recoil feels like on any gun." Robinson also noted that anyone with $7,300 can buy the civilian version of the M82A1, a fact he finds "thoroughly repugnant" and "kind of tempting." "Though I would never, ever so much as touch one, I bet the Barrett is probably very fun to shoot," Robinson said. "And the fact that anyone can get their hands on this killing machine, plus a 10-power Unertl scope and a few boxes of match-grade 750-grain cartridges, for less than $10,000, well, that's just sickening." The pacifist added that he would be willing to meet with any interested owners of Barrett rifles in order to "open a dialogue." View Quote |

Come on down. I suggest you sign up early and take the clinic on the two days beforehand. (link to 2015 version so you can understand the course of fire) Quoted:

That would be a fun thing to do with a Barrett. Same for you - come to the clinic. It's at the same "range" it's been on since 1999 or 2000. It's the exact same farmland - they take grass off it every year. And it pretty much is one guy on his family farm. Please sign up and come, it's a load of fun. ETA: The most common calibers are 30 something or 22 something (223/556, 308/300 win mag). If you sign up with a 50 please sign up for a 50 BMG spot on the far east side. Some people have signed up for a berm slot (access to closer targets) and half a day of a 50 BMG slot. |
