Guess they should leave the US too since the RFRA is already a federal thing.
|
|
real story is, they are freezing the expansion because they could not get .gov freebie subsidies for the expansion.
But hey, social justice and trannies! |
|
We are trading special rights for homosexuality for religious freedom and freedom of conscience. It is not a good trade.

Funny how this site encourages gun companies to move to free states but not anyone else. Good for them
|
|
if that is the reason Angies is doing it, aren't they doing the same thing they are objecting to with the law?

Nothing involving "Angie's List" meets the criteria for "shit just got real."

the fat chick with the "i want to talk to your manager haircut"? her website is relevant? its funny to see all those who opposed this law. Celebrities and companies I didn't like anyway....good law

Same old story. You have to give up your right to freedom for someone's hurt feelings.
So how does that work when a business like a bar says no gang colors allowed? How about a store that requires paid membership to enter, isn't that discriminating against the poor? |
|

Angie's List!
OH TEH NOES!!! It's a referral site for dumb soccer moms that don't know a plumber when little Timmy shoves all her Tampax tampons into the toilet and flush 87 times. If Angie's List isn't expanding, Indiana is totally gone. Game over man. |

I guess I'll crawl out from under my rock and ask, Who uses angies list and for what? I thought it was just some online thing where you could rate local handymen? What about that would involve a 40 mil expansion? |
|
I only use Schindler's List.
He took names and kicked ass........or was that Inglorious Basterds? |
|
|

I shall then choose to never do business with angie's list. Unless they can force me to.

I made a polite comment in response to someone supporting the move on their Facebook page explaining that they were being discriminatory towards those freely practicing their religion. Lasted all of 5 seconds.

Here's the thing about it - people SHOULD be able to discriminate. We do all the time. Should I go to business A or business B? Well, business A is further away and is more expensive, I'll go to business B. I just discriminated.
As far as businesses go, if it's a sole proprietor business (like a baker, photographer, etc), the owner should be able to decide whom he or she wishes to do business with, or not, on whatever criteria they decide. If people don't like that, they can vote with their wallet. This proposed law in IN would allow people to do that, (while I'm not very familiar with the law) based on religious preferences. Not allowing people to choose would be forcing them to do something they may not want to do. That's slavery. A more distant relative of mine that lives in IN posted something against the law, and I put it like this, since he does photography (and I think he does a little professionally, but doesn't make a living off of it) - Imagine a guy approaches you and wants to hire you to shoot an event for him. Well, that event is a nudist colony event. You say you don't want to shoot an event like that, because you don't want to be around a bunch of negative people. BAM, he sues you for discrimination, either ruining your business, or you're forced to go shoot a nudist colony event. You wouldn't like that situation, now would you? You should be able to decline business for whatever damn reason you want. If people don't like that, they can vote with their wallet and take their business elsewhere. |

“Angie’s List is open to all and discriminates against none and we are hugely disappointed in what this bill represents,” Angie's List CEO Bill Oesterle said in a statement.
Based on their recent actions, this statement isn't entirely true. |

Not sure how Angie's List even stays in business. View Quote I'm sure they take in a lot of ad revenue. I read the part about $40 million expansion and hiring 1,000 employees and wondered what a web site company would need all of that for. Just for fun I checked wiki and their financial statements, and I was surprised to see that they have over 1600 employees. Wasn't surprised to see that they posted net losses in the tens of millions of dollars each of the last 5 years. |
|
They are having financial troubles and using the law to deflect their woes.

Funny thing is, Angie's list is ALL about discrimination when it comes to looking for and hiring someone.
Discrimination is the only reason it exists in the first place. |

Tolerance for Religious Freedom? Does this mean Sharia Law can be brought to Indiana now? I'd like to see you guys "Tolerate" that. |

Well...bye..feel free to leave the state. I know several people who have worked for Angie's list and left. It is a horribly mismanaged company and they drive all their good people away with stupid shit. I would NEVER work there.

Ive got a list . A chick named Angie is on it. Is this the same list?
|

Used Angie's List to seek potential customers, just cancelled my account.

Freedom of religion is that simple. You either believe in the first amendment or you don't.
