iranian modified northrop f-5f.

I still call B.S. since what I can find on the web has the Iranians both claiming it's an indigenous airplane and claiming it is on par with the F-18.  If they have it at all it's probably worse than an F-5.

there are pictures and videos of it flying and the photo i posted is legit.

Oh, I believe you.  I'm calling B.S. on the Iranians and their claims now.

I think what he is getting at is the outrageous claims the Iranian propaganda department spews forth regarding capability.  They claimed their twin tailed F-5 was an "F-22 beater" performance-wise.

i didn't read any of the claims made by the iranians, but i think its pretty obvious that a plane originally designed in the 1960s isn't going to beat an f-22 in any competitions other than getting shot down.

I find the most interesting thing about that aircraft is they've seemingly actually produced some, unlike any of their Arab neighbors.

The markings (roundels and fin flash) say it's Spanish.

ETA:  It's this but I still don't know what this is...

ETA: Got it - "Hispano Ha-200 Saeta" advance jet trainer.

ETA: Actually, I think the one in the pic a few posts up is the "Ha-220 Super Saeta."

Did you watch the video?  The aircraft was destroyed for no real good reason.

The former army airbase in my hometown was one of the major users of this aircraft.

Yokosuka R2Y Keiun

Reminds me of the Fisher F-75A Eagle.  Both used mid-mounted, coupled engines to drive a prop via a shaft.

The XB-51, being chased by a F-100.

There are two F-100s still being flown out of KBZN.

Marked "XF-120" for the 1956 movie "Toward the Unknown."

Beautiful plane;  designed as an attack bomber to take the place of the A-26.  Couple of clearer pics:

Makes me wonder if one of the engineers there took some drawings home and asked his 4 year old to help.  No offense at all intended to the aeronautical engineers back then.  They were still pioneering a lot of the field of actual aerodynamics and flew a lot of different designs to see what worked and what didn't.   Now we do a lot of this stuff in a computer well before metal is cut.
