So you liked it when criminals shoot a man in the back, and don't like it when the group responsible gets what they deserve?

Actor: I have plenty of friends.
Doc: I don't

Doc: There's no normal life, Wyatt.  There's just life.

I used to love the movie, still like it, and quote it often...but can't shake the irony that it's about early gun control.

To you it may be blasphemy, but it's my interpretation.

I consider the book "Tombstone's Early Years" by John Myers Myers (that's his real name...) to be the authoritative historical account.

And based on that, the movie Tombstone" is extremely accurate, right down to some of the actual conversations that took place.

I'm glad they didn't "Hollywood" the movie. The Kevin Costner version, "Wyatt Earp", was a flop in and of itself, and a complete failure when compared to "Tombstone".

I don't know if I'd go that far, though there are a lot of people who believe the Earps went to that vacant lot to execute those men. Basically it was two thuggish groups trying to control the the town, both sides sometimes wore badges, both sides probably should've went to jail behind all the nonsense as well.

ETA- Also it's nearly impossible that Doc killed Ringo, and very likely that Ringo killed Ringo. And he wasn't the badass he was portrayed to be, the few men he killed usually got it in the back.

Wyatt Earp worked as a tax collector for Behan and the county some time before the shoot out and got to keep 10% of what he collected.
Wyatt Earp always used government authority to line his pockets.
That is different than straight out being an outlaw after being a lawman.
He did both successfully at the same time.
