Ohio State doesnt just beat, they obliterated #1 Alabama and #2 Oregon? With a fucking 3rd string QB and with 4 or more turnovers vs Oregon. I must say Urban Meyer has now become the best coach in CFB, in my book.

This game could have been 60-10 without the TOs.

No controversy at all. Ohio state is the best team in the nation.

ETA: maybe the national media can stop acting like only the best FB players grow up in the South.

Well there is no doubt as to who the best team in the country was.

This is probably just one of the many times the best team in the country wasn't ranked 1 or 2 and didn't get to prove it.

The first year of the new playoff could not have ended better with the last place seed dominating their opponents.

Congrats to all the Buckeyes out there.

Urban has recruited nationally, especially in FLA. And, actually, overwhelmingly the best FB players do grow up in the South. You see that in the Recruiting rankings, Teams constantly in the NC convo, and the NFL draft.

But in reality none of that means anything if you don't have the coaching and support staff to actually develop those players. Which is something that Urban and Ohio State can obviously do, as witnessed by their win last night. The scary part is that next year they'll be even better.

You have to recruit nationally to be competitive nationally, but OSU's strength is being able to gobble up MOST of the Ohio talent, it gives them a great base to work with.

The geographic midpoint of OSU recruits is 70 miles southwest of Columbus.  (near Mt Orab Ohio)

Yes.

Noles fans went from nearly a decade of shit to the cream of the crop in one season and didn't know how to handle it. Hence, #FSUTwitter was born.

OSU has been good for quite some time, so that institutional knowledge of what its like to be successful still exists. Hence, OSU fans aren't nearly as insufferable. Generally.

FSU had a great season, and nothing to be ashamed of. The ducks showed last night they are great and getting turnovers. And if the Noles didn't turn it over 5 times against the Ducks they probably would have won.

TCU has 10 of their top offensive players returning from what I heard.

I would definitely have OSU and TCU in there right now. They'll work in at least one SEC team so I'm assuming bama will probably be there too.

For the final spot who knows. Probably someone like USC or Clemson.

OSU loses basically 7 of 22 starters but at least 4 of them already rotate downs with guys who will be there next year.

Fair enough!  Helluva a team, the Buckeyes.  I think Urban Meyer is a great coach, but I'll have to admit I thought they'd still be a year or so out from contending again.  This, in my opinion, is an example of what makes college football a great sport.  A group of kids can get a chip on their shoulder and show everyone they can beat the odds and reach the top of their sport.  Congratulations on your championship and hope to get a rematch next year!

Ohio State early favorite in 2015

A day after winning the first College Football Playoff, Ohio State was anointed the favorite to win next year's national title in Las Vegas.
The Westgate SuperBook on Tuesday installed the Buckeyes as 9-2 favorites to win the 2016 College Football Playoff. TCU is next at 7-1, followed by Alabama at 8-1.
Other notables include USC at 12-1, Oklahoma at 12-1, Oregon at 20-1 and Jim Harbaugh's Michigan at 100-1.
"Harbaugh's coaching made Michigan way, way lower," Ed Salmons, SuperBook head football oddsmaker, said. "I would have had them at 300-1, if he weren't there."

Yep...

"Ohio State football fans took to the streets after their team's championship victory early Tuesday, yelling and screaming in delight, setting nearly 90 fires and tearing down an Ohio Stadium goal post. Police made a handful of arrests after using tear gas and pepper spray to disperse crowds of Ohio State University students and other fans following the Buckeyes' win."

From your lips to God's ears.

And it wouldn't really surprise me.

No controversy at all. Ohio state is the best team in the nation.

ETA: maybe the national media can stop acting like only the best FB players grow up in the South.

Look at OSU's class and you'll most from midwest region.

One thing that Meyer did when he got to osu was to poach commits from other B10 schools.  Which upset more than a few of the coaches,  as they had a "gentleman's agreement" that they wouldn't do that.  I bet most of them do it now.

I am surprised that the AP didn't put TCU at #2. The Frogs beat more top 10 or ranked teams than just about everybody, and usually by large margins. No disrespect to Oregon, just disagree.

Yep...

Meh. Dumpster fires. Not smart but at least OSU fans didn't celebrate by sexually assaulting anyone.
