My grandfather hooked me up with his GEN I Colt SAA for my last birthday. He's given me a bunch of cool shit over the years and it will be passed on to my grandchildren.

I'm not an expert, but I do have a buddy that knows about these things. I'll give you $45. Honestly thank your Granddad for it and keep it in the family.

Sweet!

The receipt says Nickel, but is it really stainless?  I don't know much about Colt revolvers...

Nope, I got a 70's model 6" Python Real nickle back then.

Polished started in the 80's......I think.

Wow.  I would keep it and shoot it once a year on your grandfather's birthday.

Great idea! I could never own a gun and not shoot it...

Buy it, if for no other reason that it was your Grandfathers.

I have a Colt Trooper, Immigration Inspector Special I bought from an outgoing Chief a couple years ago.  I paid $600 for it, never been fired, with the original receipt.

A few years back I traded a Judge to him for a Colt police positive that I gave to my Mom for a HD gun.

That wasn't very nice to him.

Neat Colt.

Id hang onto that, and if you ever need to sell it, give him the chance at it first.

Very nice, they don't make them like that anymore!  At least I don't think they do.  Buying it from him is the way to go and what I would have done to keep in the family.
