Yup, but I think Paul has a better shot of winning and definitely better chance of gaining GOP support so I would rather see him pursue it and become nominated.

The veto-proof majority of Democrats in MA were going to put a European style health care plan on the table... That Romney was able to prevent that is a victory in and of itself...

And against a veto-proof majority of Democrats, he had the total-support and full-endorsement of the NRA when he tried to make things better for gun owners in MA...

The NRA made-clear in plain-English that Romney was a (NRA's words) ..."a breath of fresh air for... gun own owners..." Link

2012 was an interesting time for Republicans...

Obama was vulnerable. Obama was weak in some areas.

But conservatives as a whole did not exploit Obama's weakness.

Sarah Palin fought Romney tooth-and-nail long past it did anyone any good. She did not "officially" endorse Romney until the day before the vote. She openly called for splitting the Republican ticket: "[Palin] also offered herself up as a possible presidential nominee at a contested convention."

Link

It was going to take a united-front to defeat Obama, and Palin did her best to divide conservatives, to the sole-benefit of Obama.

Philanderer Gingrich and retard Santorum both drove their campaigns into extreme debt trying to stay in the race. They both stayed too long... They drove their failing campaigns into deep bankruptcy with continued late-in-the-game attacks against Romney... They were doing Obama's work against the conservative platform way, way too late in the race...

Yeah, Obama *was* beatable...

With Palin trying to get her name in the hat at the convention, and with Palin trying to force a broken convention... Obama's position was better than it should have been.

With Gingrich and Santorum running their campaigns into bankruptcy with late-in-the-game attacks against the front-runner... Obama's position was better than it should have been.

Yeah... Obama was beatable... Just like Carter was.

But Conservatives united behind Reagan and Bush *early* and back-then Democrats did to Carter what Republicans did to Romney this time...

Yeah, not seeing Palin trying to force a broken-convention, and not seeing Gingrich and Santorum putting their campaigns into deep-bankruptcy... It was easy to say that the conservative front-runner was going to have a chance before all that went-down to benefit Obama...

What is this about the (your words) "Republican apparatus?"

Ron Paul was on every single ballot in the last Republican Primary...?!...?!

Does that mean that Ron was part of the Republican apparatus?!-?!

Good grief with the weirdness, folks...

Ron Paul got on every single ballot in the Republican Primary because it is *easy* to get on the ballots in the Primaries... You get folks in localities to put your name on the ballots for you...

Pretty simple.

Which is funny because decades-in-Washington, definitely-part-of-the-apparatus Gingrich could not get his name on *all* of the Primary ballots...

Only Romney and Ron Paul were on each of the Primary ballots... It was Paul vs. Romney in Virginia and Hawaii, and American Samoa... Just those two candidates...

So much for the apparatus... Couldn't get Santorum and Gingrich on every ballot...

It was Reagan who campaigned promising the 84 ban.

Romney's platform was, "No new gun laws."

Romney reiterated his platform after the Aurora shooting *during* the campaign.

The problem with Romney is that he is a Republican John Kerry.

He was for things before he was against it whenever it was politically expedient.

Polls showing anyone as the front-runner at this point are fucking useless.

All it does it gives the Ls phony ammo to start flinging shit.

I always trust what politicians tell when they are trying to get elected too. If you cant trust a person when he is trying gain control over trillions in spending, when can you trust them?

I am also glad that you cleared that up about him passing obamacare before it was cool and the assault weapons ban he passed. I mean it makes sense that  an assault weapons ban would help gun owners. It also makes sense that he passed obamacare before it was cool, because the democrats wanted something worse.

I mean a person would have to be a retard not understand that kind of logic.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I dont know where I would be without such smart people like you.
