I've been following this since August. The twitter fights, the mass of articles trying to marginalize those that are pro GG, the censoring of discussion and posts on forums. Even 4Chan started censoring the posts. When 4Chan starts censoring posts, you know shit's going down. The reports of the SJWs being threatened, leaving their homes, canceling their appearances, etc. have been largely uncovered as false flags perpetrated by the "victims". Quinn did benefit by these attacks and her involvement with those journalists, a big one was on Steam. If you don't know what Steam is, it's the largest computer video game network for buying and playing games. Her game "Depression Quest" was refused by Steam's download service, due to unpopularity in the beta/feedback phase of getting a game approved. Immediately after the "threats" and "persecution" were made public, Steam approved the game, thus giving her a huge boost in sales and word of mouth. Seems coincidental, no? They're making fake attacks to gain the victim card, plain and simple. |

There's also the game jam funding/publicity event that was sabotaged and basically redirected with some interesting reporting to ZQ's "Rebel Game Jam" that was a shill site that sent donations straight to her pocket to milk any money that would've been meant for the original. Also, didn't we have a thread on Sarkeesian like two days ago where she said someone threatened to shoot her speech up, but used some obscure Canadian shooting that's virtually unknown in the US where she was giving the speech? Oh, and the women at Honey Badger Radio have been tearing this up, too. Lots to listen to - worthwhile just to leave it on while doing stuff around the house/on the computer or whatever. DIGRA is a whole crazy can of worms, too. |

The gaming media wants games that support politics and people they like, including chicks that sleep with them. They hate their readers, and they keep promoting games written by chicks that sleep with them and no-talent hacks like Anita Sarkeesian. Then they say anyone who points this out is a misogynist. A media industry that hates its readers and the subject it covers is, oddly enough, provoking a backlash by the readers. Sarkeesian has a history. She canceled a talk at Utah State because the school did not ban concealed carry for her talk. http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/10/robert-farago/utah-pres-and-provost-to-anita-sarkeesian-wattsa-matta-u/ Throughout the day, Tuesday, Oct. 14, USU police and administrators worked with state and federal law enforcement agencies to assess the threat to our USU community and Ms. Sarkeesian. Together, we determined that there was no credible threat to students, staff or the speaker, and that this letter was intended to frighten the university into cancelling [sic] the event. The safety and protection of students and those who attend our events is our foremost priority at Utah State. But we are also an institution of higher learning. In this case, the Center for Women and Gender had invited a nationally known speaker to bring her perspective about an important topic to USU. After a full assessment of the situation, the USU administration, in consultation with law enforcement, chose to continue with the event. When our law enforcement personnel spoke about security measures, she was concerned that state law prevented the university from keeping people with legal concealed firearm permits from entering the event, and chose to cancel. As a Utah public institution, we follow state law. The Utah law provides that people who legally possess a concealed firearm permit are allowed to carry a firearm on public property, like the USU campus. |

Video game journalism is promos and trash basically, and it's unsurprising that it's being overrun with SJW liberal jorno-school grads that can't get jobs in real journalism.
This is just one more symptom of conservatives slowly losing the culture war specifically because they've lost the academic community, which more and more young people are being sent through. This specific issue is also, for me, one of those: both sides are idiots. A lot of gamers are 13yo boys with more hormones than brains who do nothing but shout racial and sexual slurs at everything. And then there's a lot of neckbeard/"adult" gamers that never properly hit mental maturity and do about the same. The SJWs are just as FOS as usual, of course, and it seems the VIPs here are also clearly in the wrong. I don't really care, though, as both sides suck and I don't game anymore. Good riddance to all of this noise. |

My beef is I don't necessarily believe that Anita Sarkeesian actually plays video games herself(lots of pretty convincing stuff out there that says she does not). I think that she was a feminist looking for a job and saw that video games were very fertile grounds.
That said, she sure is one beautiful lady and of course I condemn death threats to anyone arguing over a hobby. Having someone lobby game developers to change the way they make games, who doesn't know anything about games, would be like if Gabby Gifford started lobbying Daniel Defense to stop pinning their FSBs because set screws were less representative of misogyny....and then all the industry PR guys started agreeing with her. GD would fucking atomic meltdown, which is what gamers did. Gamers are numerous, smart and thick skinned. I just don't know if they are ready for the constant barrage of assrape the mainstream liberal press will fuck them with if they see a way to promote their anti-republican agenda. |

View Quote And I see this as getting back to the whole "there are no girls on the internet" thing - or rather one post I have seen on the subject. It stated that the point of that rule is that, due to the anonymity of the internet (we don't really know who or what you are) combined with the fact that there exists no possibility of physical interaction (that is, we're not meeting in a bar where there's a chance to get lucky or such), there is no preferential treatment to anyone on the internet based on any such physical traits. You are first and foremost judged by your actions and contributions on the internet - not on your attractiveness or other qualities that may change people's reactions IRL. (The post went on to explain that the exception, when you can be judged by physical traits, is the origin of "tits or GTFO" - that is, only by demeaning yourself and turning yourself into what amounts to an object will get you any special attention - and then likely only to be further objectified, rather than to get people to listen or even fake-listen to what you have to say, as would be more apt to happen IRL.) Someone who understands this - that the internet can be yet another great equalizer - won't feel any need to draw attention to their gender, or sexual identity, or whatever. They will simply put their accomplishments out there, and stand or fall by their worth. I think you'll find that as well among developers (and elsewhere) already. It's the shitty ones that draw attention to their place as some minority. The ones who make good stuff don't need - nor likely want - any attention along those lines. I can think of at least one incredibly awesome game project that is currently under development that is headed by a female developer - but you wouldn't even know that fact until you start digging around, because they don't try to shove it in your face. They care more about you focusing on the efforts of their labor, not who they are. The good ones don't want to be known as "that girl that made XYZ". They want to be known as "that dev that made YYZ" (... who happens to be a girl). |

View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: My beef is I don't necessarily believe that Anita Sarkeesian actually plays video games herself(lots of pretty convincing stuff out there that says she does not). I think that she was a feminist looking for a job and saw that video games were very fertile grounds. And I see this as getting back to the whole "there are no girls on the internet" thing - or rather one post I have seen on the subject. She then used that excuse to get a kickstarter to raise money to buy videogames so she could get some first person knowledge about the subject, she raised something like 160k, then didn't even play the games and used footage from other peoples youtube channels and tried to pass them off as her own |

Quoted: Quoted: I don't really care, though, as both sides suck and I don't game anymore. Good riddance to all of this noise. fucking 14'er. What? You know full well that there's a very very large percentage of gamers who are either literally or just mentally 13-yo boys, and that they're undoubtedly the most vocal when it comes to games/comments and an awful lot of awful forums (GD obviously not a part of that). LoL/CoD/XyZ, we all know the score with those players. Steam forums, DayZ forums, any forum that attracts gamers primarily, we know the score there too. There's a ridiculous amount of immaturity, slurs, and sexism out there. Look at a lot of the games released, they're clearly designed around fantasy sex stereotypes with the female characters treated as pure physical objects. Of course there's tons of games NOT like that, but gaming is "fertile grounds" for feminism precisely because of all this bs. I'm not a strong feminist or SJW, but I also don't like seeing women treated like pieces of meat for sexually-depraved men to drool over, harassed online, and otherwise discriminated against. I won't start a organization to change that stuff, but I'm also not going to enjoy being around it or playing games where it's openly embraced. Now I also know a ton of games and gamers who weren't like that. I pretty much avoided those terrible games (save DayZ, but that's because I already had ArmA) precisely because I wanted nothing to do with that subculture of gamers/children. Now the non-immature gaming scene is dominated by indies, which themselves are dominated by liberals and SJWs (some exceptions aside). It's either mainstream CoD kiddie stuff or touchy-feely transfemithnicitists. It's getting polarized into two groups I want nothing to do with. I'll stick to the few games I like still, on the rare occasion I play, but the whole culture/industry as a whole has definitely turned me off as I've matured and it's polarized. I want neither extreme to prevail. |

Good.
The more the left is exposed in as many circles as possible for the lying controlling pieces of shit that they are; the better. |

PC lost dedicated servers, server support, mod support in many games because of catering to the console crowd. Catering to consoles exclusively has shittied up PC gaming. so we're still angry at that. It's like the FOPA of 1986 for video games. |
