No love for Mega? Mine has been excellent.

I didn't realize they made complete rifles.

Sorry, I forget that some people don't like to build from parts.

LMT seems to be the one that appears in everyone's list most consistently.

These threads are fascinating to me.  Everytime one comes up the Noveske fanboys trip over themselves.  Usually take control of the thread.  But this always confused me.  Nobody I know owns a Noveske.  I've never ever seen a Noveske.  So I look up the numbers.

Last three years production for Noveske is 43, 190, and 770.  2006 to 2008, per the ATF stats.  Does everyone that buys one have to swear they will post on the internet at least weekly how great they are?  I'm honestly curious.  Bushmaster builds more in a week than Noveske has in three years.

FWIW, I'm in the "they're all pretty much the same" boat.  In my shooting group we have Colt, Bushmaster, DPMS, Superior, RRA, Oly, two or three frankenguns.  All of them seem to work.

In before the useless chart.

I'm sorry, but I know few serious AR shooters who buy a complete off-the-shelf rifle.  They buy the best of the best of each component and go from there.  Custom.......

But, FWIW, I think they're all about the same.  These get listed slightly higher because of the stricter quality control.  You might be ever so slightly more likely to get a lemon from another manufacturer, but if it's a good one, it's just as good as any of the above.

My Stag is as good as anyone's 6920 or M&P15.

Every AR I've built has been 100% with any ammo, including Wolf and Bear.  Hard to beat 100%  And since the other makers are just assemblers (how many actually fab their own receivers, barrels and small parts?), I see no reason to favor them over me.  And I can hand select every part to suit my needs, budget and desires.

Then I stuck it in my closet of my apartment for say 1 maybe 2 years, never fired it. I too would think it was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I guess I would try to sell it on the internet once I realized I don't need it and my current girl friend doesn’t want me to have it

Dont know about the rest, but youre wrong

IMO mil spec is a limitation.

I bought a Bushmaster 10 years ago when Colt was the end-all-be-all. A couple years later the Hive Mind Collective deemed Bushmaster worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as Colt, but that was about it. I bought my second Bushmaster. Then I bought a RRA lower and matched it with a Bushmaster upper a couple years later. At that time RRA was considered par with Bushmaster, but just shy of Colt.

I have never needed to improve or mess with or replace my rifles. Many years, several thousands of rounds...some of them of questionable quality....and I have never thought I needed to replace them with the new uber-cool, ultra tactical boutique rifles. I may have swapped a rail or a trigger here and there, but that was just for fun, not necessity.

There's really not that much difference unless you plan on holding a donut shop hostage at shift change.

roy d....did I mention that they shoot way more accurate than I can see?
