Hello OP.

The incredible work that you do is something I aspire to.

I have been eyeing many radios set out for disposal for the nine
years I have lived in a neighborhood of old upper middle class homes.
I do this with the hope of running across a jewel of a classic consol.

I just pulled a Stromberg-Carlson Consol with Phono/Changer off the curb here last week.
Its not a perfect jewel but it may be a diamond in the rough if I can get it all together
with parts and guidance.

It powers and I am planning to restore it. I am a complete newb to radio, though
a fine tinkerer with applicable skills.

My question is if it is worth joining The Radio Museum as a resource
for schematics and parts sourcing?

Thank you for whatever opinion you may present

I have not joined anything other than forums.

This site has some good documentation

Powering up can be risky. Most shy from it until they replace capacitors and any other suspect parts. After that the set is usually brought up slowly w/ a variac and an amp meter.

The last thing you want is for vital parts to go POOF! :)
