ETA: The idea behind it is it will result in less cautions because those cars that take too long to fix end up spitting pieces off causing debris cautions.

Clarification:

On the white flag lap...
Drivers don't do ANYTHING to benefit ANYONE other than themselves. Teammates included.

They don't give a rats ass about anyhthing other than advancing their own position on the last lap.
Doesn't matter who is in front of them... they are PAID to finish in front of that guy, NO MATTER who it is.

Owners would prefer that teammates don't wreck each other of course.
Drivers... may not necessarily have such concerns
