When I needed a brick column rebuilt on my porch I had to call about a dozen places just to find two that would even bother to call me back for a bid. I was a contractor for 14 ears and I jumped through hoops to make sure all my accounts could reach me at any time with one phone call. I honestly don't know how companies stay in business these days. That had to be annoying as all get out. 24/7 on call to the power generation industry. Big ticket jobs with very large margins. It's what I had to do. Understood. I just could never ever be in a job with a 24 hour on-duty requirement, or that had bad working conditions. And now you know why I had a "stress related cardiac event" at age 38 and eventually walked away from the money. |

Electric company are really pissing me off.
The started connecting our house last Monday (running primary and secondary power lines 300 feet through a (already in place) conduit. Then they did nothing for most of a week. Then they are hoping ot get the wires and transformer energized in the next 2 or 3 days. Once that is done they need to schedule someone else to install our electric meter which will take another 2 days. Every day they take pushes back our closing by a day costing us $500 for hotel, furniture storage, and dog overnight daycare. Fuck the unions. |
