Quoted: The bottom line, I think anyway, is that VW could have Porsche, VW, Audi, Lambo, or some guys in a shed in Kentucky to build the motor, and still call it whatever a Porsche, or an Audi, or whatever. FP1 is about to start, FIA feed is live.
Also need to say I purchase a tablet and the F1 app looks wonderful on it. Also, since I used my same google account I used for the purchase on my phone, the purchase transferred to my tablet. One last note, American Alexander Rossi is running FP1 in place of Kobayashi. |

Alonso ahead of the Mercedes in fp1.
Not dreaming. It won't last. But the f-14T appeared to behave well on the corners, and the PU seems to push her fast enough. Good signs |

Ten things you need to know about the Canadian GPBecause it's a street circuit, an old-school driver's favourite that hasn't been neutered by the new breed's galactically long run-off areas, and features the infamous ‘wall of champions', Montreal is no stranger to the safety car. Of the last 13 races, seven have seen the silver AMG Mercedes at least once. ‘Recent races that stick in my mind include the 2011 Canadian Grand Prix,' safety car driver Bernd Maylander told TG. ‘I couldn't really see anything for a lot of the time, I didn't know what was going on behind me, so I was focused like I was doing my own race. Seeing the aftermath of Robert Kubica's crash during the 2007 Canadian GP was pretty bad, too. There was so much debris on the track, and an accident like that is something you never want to see...' 20 minutes until FP3.
FANTASY PICKS NEED TO BE ENTERED BY 12:55PM EST. |

Well...
Instead of the step forward Ferrari made it backward... LoL Nice. Congrats to the red bulls. With the worse PU they placed their cars up there in the grid. |

Anybody just catch Gene Haas talking to the NBC F1 analysts? Haas F1 expected to start competing in 2016, based out of Kannapolis, NC and Danica Patrick is a name in the hat as a driver?
Reverse Ricky Bobby move from Nascar to F1, with Danica moving up to wreak havoc on the world of F1? THAT ought to get F1 all sorts of US viewership, just by the Danica haters hoping to see her destroy the field in a way not seen since Sato was driving. |

View Quote What, no Zamboni racing? Google Chrome's translation is pretty broken, but rumors Ferrari will try to drop Kimi at the end of the year... http://leavemealone.hu/maris-felmerult-raikkonen-menesztesenek-hire/ I fear if they do - again - Kimi might call it quits of F1 for good. There aren't really any teams out there that need a driver, that are good enough Kimi would want to race with. |

It was just pouring here where I am and I hoped we'd maybe see some rain in Canada but the weather looks clear. Only a few hours until green flag!

Rain probably won't make it, but it may pick up again where I am.
Just over an hour until lights go out. |

Happy to hear this race was resigned for 10 years.
After Spa and Suzuka, this is my favorite circuit. Always great races and looks good on TV. |

Unlikely, but we'll see. I'd like to see Massa and Bottas have good results. Also Kimi, but I'm starting to lose faith.

That was quick.
At least Vettel took P2, potentially pushing Hamilton back into the clutches of the Williams. Williams recorded the highest trap speeds. |

Time for Hamilton to run down Rosberg. He's got his work cut out for him. Even with that pit stop Hamilton is within DRS and it's happening. Nico cut corners to make sure it didn't happen. |

Hamilton will pass Rosberg regardless of what the stewards say
