I got one from one of PSA's sales. No matter what other gun I have on me the LCP is always in my pocket.

I'm not exactly sure what some people are expecting in a tiny, very light, inexpensive pocket pistol. It's not meant to be a plinker or match gun. It is much easier to shoot than my .32 Seecamp and more pleasant than the .38 LCR with hot loads but IME it's one of those guns that needs to just be shot enough for proficiency and it's perfectly fine for that.
It's considerably smaller than everything else mentioned. The SIG 938 shoots impressively well for a small gun but, personal preference, for a pocket gun I don't want a single action and don't care that the Ruger sights are rudimentary. It was almost exactly 3X the cost as well. It's a bargain in my book, especially if inclined to start carrying a BUG. |

Yes, I picked mine up Thursday. $180 at Cabelas with $20 off $150+ coupon.

What's the difference between the regular and the pro? The trigger?

I really don't like .380acp but I am damn tempted to get one just to have a small gun to pocket carry during the summer months.

mines great, shoots 1 pound coffee cans (roughly the size of a guys big head) at 15 yards no problems. when you walk through the parking lot with your hand on it while its in your pocket no one is the wiser. no one will ever know your carrying it View Quote Exactly. Happy carrier of mine since it came out. I think the Crimson Trace and Pocket Nemisis is a must. |

I need a $200 LCP as much as I need a $450 AR. Which is not at all.

I got my LCP custom for $220. Worth every penny, and I pocket carry that thing very regularly.

I picked one up for $230 just a bit ago. Nice for pocket or under the vest and not as heavy as the 9mm. I might try the bodyguard out for $275 plus tax. I would like to have night sights. All my local place bad was Hornady ftx or the Winchester pdx1 so I grabbed the Hornady

There are times when carrying anything larger would be difficult or impossible.
So yes, I love my $200 lcp. |

Don't get me wrong, I think it's fucking fantastic that prices have dropped on guns of reasonable utility and quality. But the LCP does nothing for me because I hate pocket carry, and I'd rather have 1 $1350 AR than 3 $450 at this point in my life. |

Keep in mind people, there are two generations of LCP's. Ruger did not make a big deal of this or even really mention it. In approximately late '13 IIRC they updated and improved the standard LCP with a much improved lighter trigger and slightly larger sights. So many people who hate the gun may have experienced the Gen 1 gun. My Gen 2 is fairly easy to ring a 12" plate reliably at WAY beyond LCP range. I bought it with the idea that it may be a A: jammomatic and B: broad side of barn gun. It has far surpassed my expectations that I had going in with regards to reliability and accuracy. View Quote This sums up my experience too. Hard to beat for pocket carry. |

Went to the LGS who had none and said they're hurting for Ruger stock...but they did have a used purple with laser on the wall for me to try. The Gen 2 sights are fine for the purpose of this gun. I don't want the taller ones on the Custom to snag...or...worse...fall off as I've read seems to be a genuine Ruger issue (I know Ruger sucks with sights, I own several). Red trigger does nothing for me. True pocket carry/last ditch effort gun is the purpose. I find in IL it's not always the easiest to get away with carrying everywhere. This I can put in a pocket holster and forget about it for no one to be the wiser and that's exactly what I wanted.
I fent on the below for guys wondering where to buy one now. Sportsman's Guide has them for $199 if you're a member (didn't even realize I was still a member until I looked at checkout), or $209 non-member. $10 gun fee added, no tax, free ship. Sportsman's Guide LCP standard $199.49 Ruger is smart as hell. Give away the gun for a tiny profit and sell the shit out of expensive mags. |

Hogue grip for Crimson Trace.
Higher weight recoil spring.. stainless steel guide rod... metal trigger. no more snappy. |

Just a note ... spelling errors are NOT a reportable offence.
Neither are grammar errors. Thanks. |

I shot my uncles and it wasn't to bad but had a really crappy trigger on it.

I had a Gen1 that i paid $279 for. Came with two magazines.
Picked up a new gen2 today for $209 wit one mag. Better sights and better trigger than the gen1. I passed on the custom for $219 due to reports of the front sight falling off under recoil and it or fitting holsters. |

All the LGS laugh when you inquire about any flavor of LCP around here. Seem to be unobtainaim. WTF?

I have one. It fits my "better than nothing" niche for times when I'm limited in what I can carry.

lcp always went bang, even with cheap aluminum and steel cased ammo. Could hit a soup can lid at 5 yards.
for what it is, its hard to beat for the price. |

Quoted: Accurate gun, extremely light and small. Crappy, long, heavy trigger, in a ridiculously small frame, making it nearly impossible to shoot more than a few rounds defensively. ONLY gun I've ever purchased; and later sold or got rid of. I joke that it makes a great tackle box gun. That's about it for me. View Quote |

I've shot a few, never really liked them so I won't be buying one. I don't buy stuff just because it's cheap. I rather put the $200 towards something I like.

We ran out early on, capped backorders at 25 with no promises, and got inquiries and phone calls all weekend asking if we had any in stock. I'll bet Ruger is shitting themselves trying to figure out how to fit all those orders into their production schedule on top of other high demand guns. |

never would have thought it, but that little pocket gun is my favorite. It's small and great for at home, work (no carry allowed), etc. A real handgun is never far- the LCP fills a necessary role.
Didn't realize it til I bought it. And afrcom always said not to. |
|
In rugers defense, the trigger pull is extra long and crappy because they know there will be plenty of idiots who just throw it in their pants pocket with no holster.
The long trigger pull is the safety. |
