Per Dr. Thomas Sowell, "The real minimum wage is ZERO."

and that is what you're going to get for a lot of people whose skills can't generate $15 an hour.

That's the plan.

Changing the minimum wage doesn't change the value of the work.

On the other hand, telling people they're just going to have to suck it up and starve isn't realistic.  They'll just vote for Democrats.

Next run of a liberty loving country will need to codify a prohibition on wealth redistribution constitutionally. Because the bolded is damn right.

Personally I am thrilled that stores and fast food chains are adopting kiosks , it should reduce overhead and make goods and services cheaper over the long haul. An added benefit is that I will not have to deal with people who can't or will not learn English and idiots who can speak English and still fuck up my order. Socialism has consequences and I hope that eventually these stupid fucks learn that.

A person doesn't need much money to live, look at people in other countries.

Our "poor" people here are better off than most middle class 3rd world people.

Living doesn't mean having a cell phone, cable TV, air conditioning, cigarettes, X box, or even a TV for that matter.

Yeah? What would YOU know about how people in other countries live?

Air, food, water, shelter, clothing are needed to live... ANYWHERE.  But our "poor" people here live like kings compared to some.

You should see $130, since we are doubling wages.

Well, I dont think business owners should be forced to pay a minimum wage, but I do think that inflation has robbed the wage earner of the ability to live doing  the same work that allowed their parents and grand parent to raise a family. That is largely the result of a century of war and socalist safety nets.

Minimum wages will raise prices of many common items.  This hurts the poor disproportionately.  Ask her why she hates the poor.

They stay unemployed, by law.

Then they have to rely on the state or break the law by working under the table.

It's almost as if it's all a plan to make more people dependent on the state or something

Why is it any of their business what I pay someone?  If they think I'm paying too little, they can pitch in.

Meh.

If 40 hours a week of your labor doesn't bring enough value to an employer to make a profit while paying you enough to live on, it's not my fucking problem.  You should work harder.  Or study harder.  Or adopt a cheaper way of living.

As for FDR's bullshit Marxist drivel... The government deciding which businesses have "the right to exist"?  How is that not textbook totalitarian fascism?

The idjit, Robert Reich, is the dean at UC Berkeley Business school.  After reading his book, Aftershock, not to be confused with that more credible work of the same title by Weidemer, Weidemer and Spitzer, I understood why college grads are idjits.

Yes, I can see that. But if I have a person sitting in an office basically doing nothing but taking an occasional phone call then that job is only worth 10 an hour.
I mean they spend 80% of their time online or texting...

You can't debate economics with someone that doesn't know anything about economics.

Oh, and the fact that the person uses the word "deserve" is a major red flag.

Much like "fair," these days it's a word that serves to warn you that you're dealing with an immature simpleton who believes that life is a children's playground.

In reality the MW should be around 12-13 to keep up with inflation. The 40's-70's is when the U.S. was the kitties titties (according to GD).

Ask the LIBTARD.............

If/When $15 an hour becomes the min wage, what does he think will happen to the cost of living and what will the results of that be?

So, assume that the cost of living goes up.

Say that currently workers get $8 - $9 an hour and that a McDonald's big mac is selling for right about $5.  So, what will a big mac cost after the min wage increases?
What will happen to those on a fixed income who don't get a raise?
If those on fixed incomes don't go out to eat or eat out less often.  Would that McDonalds maybe close or cut back on their employees?

++++++++++++++

Then, the argument about Govt welfare for those who "don't get a living wage."  The LIBTARDS like to say that with a living wage......more people will be off of the Govt dole.

Humm.........assuming that your employer doesn't go out of business.

If you currently got $10 an hour and collected Govt payments (food stamps, welfare, sec 8, medicaid, etc.....) and all of a sudden you got $15 an hour and were NOT eligible for those Govt payments........would you be happy?

Well, in the SEATAC area of WA, where $15 an hour is the law.........some min. wage employees have actually asked to work less.  All so that they can continue to collect from the Govt programs.

Yup.......the problem is that, Govt freebies are just too generous to give up.

All that..........while everyone else has had their standard of living reduced by inflation.

Then what if...........

An employer had to lay off employees or if the business closed due to the higher wages.  Do you think that the former employees would be in line to collect some "un-employment?"

Aloha, Mark
