Thanks! I just bought a Ruger American in 243 for $199. Jealous. I probably called 10 WalMarts. None near me (read: in my immediate city) sell firearms. Everything outside the city does, so I drove to one and damn they didn't have the lower price. Next closet that had a 30-06 was 40-minutes away and the woman on the phone didn't want to ring up the price for me. The store I visited had told me previously they didn't have any Ruger Americans in stock, but I visited and there were 3 magically on the shelf. Lying sacks of shit. What part of NC are you? I can keep my eyes open for you around Charlotte. Triad area Ahhh I see the problem now. Once you cross into SC almost every store sells guns. Some of the restaurants have gun racks still. I What are you looking for? I am going out tomorrow and can see what a few stores have in stock |

In my area, the sale started this morning. It was not advertised and the employees did not know there would be a sale. The price was $199 for the RA rifles. They sold 5 by 11am and were sold out. Thanks for the heads up OP! |

Shit! I went to the local wally world tonight and couldn't even score AA 12 ga.

I'll hit it up every day over lunch this coming week to check. I do appreciate your offer to keep your eyes open for me but honestly anything outside a 20-30 minute drive is out of reach for now. No mark downs at the Iowa Walmart I checked. I wonder if the Mini 14 they had will be marked down when it happens.

My brother and I picked up Marlin 1895's. Wow, what a steal! No RAR's, though. I was hoping for a .308. One of his buddies went to Wally World in Maine, and texted us saying they had one Guide model of the 1895, but that it was marked $589. I told him to get back in there and have them scan it. He did, and got it for $299. He's a happy dude in black bear country now, for sure. That's probably the perfect gun for bears up there, as thick as the trees are. They probably rarely get shots past 50 yards, and probably few even that far.
Thanks OP for the heads up. This is probably the best deal I'll ever see on a new gun. Btw, the walnut stock on mine has absolutely gorgeous wood grain. The forestock, though is so-so. My brother's stock matches the forestock on mine, and his forestock grain matches my stock. He offered to give me his forestock to finish the look. Are those hard to remove? --Edit, I just found that it is pretty easy. |
|
My local Walmart had a Savage 22 lr on clearance for $74. I bought it but got delayed that was the only thing on clearance. I'll have to check back everyday. Gonna check the Walmart by my work place on Monday after I get off work.

Changing the forestock is not hard at all. Many videos on youtube that show how to do it. . Congrats on the find. I picked up 2 of them today as well. Now we need a group buy on ammo |

Has anyone picked up the Marlin 30-30 on sale by chance? I am looking for a .45-70 but came across the 30-30. I didn't have them scan it but may head back tomorrow.

When I went in on Friday, they had ammo scattered all over behind the counter, jumbled together in big boxes, etc. They also had a locked "rolling cage" full of ammo and other things (game cams, etc). Of course, no one was around, but, it looked like a wholesale reorganization was going on. No clearance tags, though. I'm going to try again this week. |

I found 1 store 2 counties away ( taking my sons to their mom) that had a Marlin 1895 on the shelf still. $589 price tag, guy tried scanning it, said it was $589. I dont think he actually scanned the tag since he was having issues getting the scanner to read. I did try to buy a Savage 93 22mag earlier in the day but the customer ahead of me bought the last one.
I'm not really interested in the RARs but I could use a $100 22mag and a $300 Marlin 1895. |

Yes, they are. At least in Davenport. I went into two stores and asked the guy at the counter to verify the price by scanning. At both stores I got pushback because they KNEW the price marked was accurate. And both times they ended up pissed that the internet knew of price drops before they did. Aren't FFLs required to report 2 or more purchases by a person? |

Picked up my Marlin this morning. Only took about 30 minutes to process but they didn't have a manager onsite so I had to wait 45 more minutes. I had some other shopping to do so I took care of that.
Mine had a Mossberg (930?) shotgun with a second barrel for $299, a Mossberg 22 for $75, a savage 22 mag for $150 and a Savage 22LR for $99. I considered the other three, but I had recently bought another shotgun as well as 2 22LRs for myself and my son. Happy hunting! |

Went out to Royal Palm Beach Wal-Mart this morning. Only one near me that still sells guns. The lack of activity around the gun counter told me was probably a no go. Very few guns in the case. Had one Marlin marked down to $539.00. That was the scanned price. Cashier was very helpful. Said clearance prices were at the managers discretion. Asked me if I was the guy who called earlier. Clearly the word is out.
