I'd love to have that one!

Me too. But I bought a 5906 the first year they came out, and I absolutely love it. Mine isn't as accurate, nor am I NEARLY as good of a shooter, but even a stock 5906 is a LOT of fun to shoot. They do have a super fast reset.

I noticed that his PC 5906 has the straight grips on it. I bought a set of straight grips for my 5906, too. I just prefer how they feel. The straight grips were OE on the Model 4006, so they can still be found on the used market, and I'm sure there is some NOS somewhere.

659?  good or bad?

The one I had was never very accurate. a BIG difference from my Model 59. I'd get a 5906 just to get the Novak 3 dot  sights. Or the fully adjustable 3 dot sights, rather than the 659. The trigger on my 5906 was better than the one on the 659 I owned, as well.

I think  they're popular because they are cheap right not.  If you've got $300 to spend on a gun they're one of the better options.
