When did GA finally manage to seceed from the union, thus making it no longer subject to U.S. federal law?

without a license from BATF. And you have to agree to distill something like 500 gallons a year at a minimum to get a license.

It is not legal to make moonshine.
It is very easy to make moonshine.
The last published figures I saw said there were no moonshine busts in the last few years. I think the figures were from 2007.
It is legal to use a still to distill water and also essential oils.
Stills can legally be purchsed on internets.
It many states it is easy to get a permit to distill fuel alcohol; the equipment and process are very similar

Subject says it all...some friends and I were talking about it at work.

I used to live in a small West GA town and it was known fact that the local sheriff got paid a royalty for every jug of sugar liquor sold. So I guess its legal.

It's like a rule of arfcom inevitability:  one will always turn up in every discussion.   Let's have a thread about SBS's and see who posts a pick of their 12" non-permitted cutdown that's legal because "it's not a shotgun, it's grandpappy's rocksalt-launching watermelon antitheft device".

So how do you figure out how much in taxes you need to pay?

Quoted:

The following is for "personal" consumption.

Beer - Yes, no taxation can't sell it.

Wine - Yes, no taxation can't sell it.

Liquor - Yes, but you have to pay taxes on it and you can't sell it.

For selling you just have to pay taxes on it and it has to be approved for resale.

This shouldn't come as a surprise when you realize America was first inhabited by a bunch of asshole Puritans and then the South was predominantly Baptist.  Alcohol=Evil, duh

The Puritans drank, Pilgrims landed at Plymouth because the beer ran out.

I think you need a license before you make it. I'm sure they will help you with the tax aspect.
