Jesus H Christ.....
Do you people WANT this war to happen? Every week there's another one of these threads...

Oh, OP.... Fuddruckers is very fucking anti-gun.... Think about that the next time you want an overpriced burger....

Thanks for that... I wasnt aware... I have open carried there before :-), they must not have noticed. - I guess I will go to Five Guys next time.

ETA: Of course I dont want it to happen... I have friends who live in Israel. The last thing I want is for them to be in any more danger than they are.... I guess its just that I know it is inevitable, so I keep my eyes out, and when news like this surfaces... I start to grimace.

Israel hasn't "attacked" anything, and most likely would not.  Conducting a non-compliant boarding of a blockade runner is not an attack.

Not as it is viewed by the liberal media, or other Islamic nations... reality does not matter, what matters is perception... if the perception and media coverage suggests it as unwarranted and thusly an attack, it doesnt matter what the reality of the situation is.

No, facts and reality actually do matter.

Had Israel illegally "attacked" a ship belonging to Turkey, a war would be occurring in the Med between the two countries right now.  That did not happen, and as a result Turkey is making loud noises and nothing more.

What the MSM says doesn't really matter that much.

Russia's not going to get involved in that fight.  There's really no reason for them to.  They might issue a strongly worded letter like Turkey did, but in reality they don't care that much, and they're not going to support Hamas.

Let's hope you're right.  I think you're wrong, though.  Russia is DESPERATE to maintain relevance on the world stage.

Russia hate Islamofacist terrorists as much as Israel does –– perhaps even more.

Iran isn't capable of putting ships in the Med.  Ain't gonna happen.

According to reports, two ships are already on the way.

Which reports?  They have no ability to support anything in the Med, any ships they put there would be sitting ducks –– and most of their ships would run out of fuel long before they got anywhere near the Med –– assuming anyone lets them travel through the Suez, which is not guaranteed.
they wnt an excuse, they dont care otherwise..

I get what you're saying, but don't think that, in order to refuel at sea, you have to do it the way we do.  Hell, they could even pull into a port or drop anchor, tie up along side the tanker and get gas.  It doesn't have to be an UNREP.  Sometimes we marvel so much at our own technology that we forget there ARE simpler ways of accomplishing similar results - especially if you toss caution and safety to the wind.

I wonder why we don't do it that way.

And that's my point... I think it would be foolish to assume Iran can't find a way to extend the combat radius of their ships especially if it is VERY unlikely that anyone will be shooting at them during the refueling.

It's not just fuel.  Ships require fuel, food, repair parts, ordnance, etc.  The logistics of supporting a ship deployed 3000 km from port are fairly complex –– and Iran has had no reason to develop them.  They have no ability to project Naval force outside the Persian Gulf and, to a limited extent, the Gulf of Oman.

A lot of Iranians hate their leaders.  This was demonstrated by the riots last year.  What are the chances of starting a revolution by dropping a couple of well placed bombs?  I realize that most Iranians hate Isreal more than they do their own leaders, but I can't help but believe that if chaos was started, that it might just snowball and Isreal could just step back and watch it collapse on it's own.  Just a thought.

This article clarifies what's actually happening.

A non-government associated organization in Iran is sending two ships, that may dock in Egypt, to provide aid to Gaza.  There will be no military escort.

And yet... they somehow still manage to do business with them A LOT.

Well, they do business with Iran.  I don't see them doing business with Hamas or Hezbollah directly.

They don't have to... if Israel picks a fight with a directly supported Iranian entity (like an Iranian military escorted aid package)... which is all I've been saying.  I've never suggested that Russia would support Hamas.  The Iranian government is a weak form of Islamofascism.

I think the Russians are smart enough to understand why involving themselves in that conflict would not be a good move.  Russia does not support Iran –– they sell arms to them.  There's a difference.

Zero.

Countries rally around the flag when attacked by an outside force. We don't want to inflame nationalistic sentiments that will unite the people behind the regime.

We want to find ways to cause resentment and anger toward the government. Bombing Iran won't do that.
