But they're attached to the bumper beam and the dumbass tore that off the bumper mounts by going way too fast. With a snatch strap like that you only need to be rolling a little more than an idle and the strap will stretch then yank the struck vehicle. I use one of those straps and have gotten vehicles as large as a Freightliner with a 53ft trailer unstuck using my Ranger. It only takes a good tug and the strap does the work. But with an idiot at the wheel like the kid in the video, it's going to be a festival of broken shit when structural limits are exceeded. |

Bout happened to me last winter. Pulled an old lady out of the snow and she just wanted to keep on driving away. Similar thing happened to me a few years ago. Got home from work and there was a Jeep Wrangler on top of the snow bank across the street from my driveway. The teenage girl took a corner too fast and that's where she stopped. I puller her out with a tow strap and then moved my Suburban closer to her Jeep so I could disconnect it. She starts to drive away. I had to explain to her that the strap was still connected and I didn't think she was going to drive away with my truck. Idiot. |
