I was debating doing this. I bent a couple ak receiver flats, gathered up some random parts, some wasr wood, and the barrels that came with a few ak kits I bought that were cut up, threw it all in a box and brought them to a buyback in NC. For "assault weapons" they gave a $200 prepaid visa card. I managed to get 4 visa cards, and after they ran out of cards (about an hour after they started) I managed to buy a couple guns from other people there. Then I went and used the cards to buy a Springfield Range Officer and some ammo on my way home.
