Anyone have a lever action with a half octagonal barrel? I've always loved the way those look.

Dude, that bug bit me years ago, but I've never been able to scratch that itch...money and circumstances haven't come together.  I totally understand it, though.

Next on my list are a Vaquero and a level action rifle, both in .357.  I'm not super-set on any particular models...when money and circumstances come together, it just happens.

I like it this way, 'cause it's kinda like I get to surprise myself with a gift.

I have a decent number of Ruger Vaqueros and one USFA Redeo. I really like the Sharps Rifles. I owned a Browning B78 in 45-70. It has to be the SAA for me.

I inherited a Uberti 1873 Winchester clone in 45LC from my late uncle - I love this rifle (just as he did).

Anyway, I think I've been bitten by the "guns of the old west" bug because now I want another lever action rifle (probably a Henry clone), a Sharps rifle of some flavor, and a single action revolver. They look totally badass, are a joy to shoot, and you really feel like you're holding a piece of history (even with a clone) when you're slinging lead down range. Most of my money goes into my AR, SCAR, and AK collection, but western guns are the next best thing in my book.

So, what's your favorite pistol, rifle, or shotgun from the Old West? Something you already own or something you want?

In my opinion, this is the most beautiful gun ever made:

Went into a LGS intent on finally bringing home a Vaquero.  While there I browsed the others.  Ended up taking home an Uberti Cattleman "El Patron".  I liked the looks, fit and feel SO much better than the Vaquero--and it's cheaper.

Nice....El Patron has the Wolf springs.  I just picked up a EP Competition that has a different geometry hammer.  I wanted the 5 1/2 incher but they only had the 4 3/4.

The current family picture.

Just bought a Winchester M73 Sporter (in 357), shows up on Monday.  I saw this particular model at SHOT Show last year and it finally became available.  What's not to like about 14+1 of 357Mag?

Now I need a few SAA's to go with it.

Colt SAA.

Can't afford the real things, so my Ruger old model Blackhawk and Rossi 92, both in .357 Mag will have to suffice.
