Feel free to use this post to share any builds or feedback you have on the project Beta.
Please use the tacked thread for all bugs and issues, so we can address them! Keep in mind that for the beta there is no saving or sharing enabled. We are looking at the usability and server side of things for this round of testing. The beta can be accessed at: GUNSTRUCTION on AR15.Com If you have been invited to the beta, it will load for you. If not, it will give you a an "unauthorized" message. Remember that next month it will be available for everyone to use and that we will continue to invite new users throughout this month! |
|
You may know this, but the "Advertise," "User Agreement," "Contact," and "About" links at the bottom right do not lead anywhere but a refresh of the gunstruction builder.

Don't forget that you can hide most of the UI for a clean screenshot by hitting H on your keyboard!

So far, the biggest issue I found is that the Aimpoint T-1 is not rendering when I cowitness it. Here is the rifle I built in the Accessories view.
No optic appears when I go to cowitness view. Additionally, I was building a dissipator like my rifle, but I found that MOE rifle length handguards were not compatible with a low-pro gas block. Maybe the low pro gas block is actually too tall for that config? I was using the 0.750" Troy low pro. I think that it would be helpful if you had the part name displayed with each part as you're selecting through them. For example, I was trying to construct a rifle as close to my personal rifle as possible. It would have been much easier if I had a list of names that I could see since the part pictures tend to be small and difficult to distinguish (at least to this AR lay-person) brand-wise.

When you go into co-witness anything that isn't attached to the rail is not displayed. Try again by adding the t1 mount, then the riser on top of it (it will snap together) and then the t1, and the whole thing should snap onto the rail when it's close. It should be cowitnessable at that point (Just tested it myself) For the dissipator you can get the look by using rifle length gas system, front sight block, MOE rifle length, and the J&T heavy 16in barrel. Using a carbine or mid length gas system with a low-profile gas block for that set up is something we want to support though! |

These look great so far. I'm bummed I missed out on the beta raffle, looks like I'll be waiting till next month.

So far, I haven't really been able to play with it a whole lot, but I have two recommendations so far.
1. I would like to be able to sort parts by different categories like brand, color,or optical zoom range for optics. 2. I noticed that my browser would crash if I tried to do anything else when I had Gunstruction up. I'm not sure if it's possible, but it would be nice to have the tool not take up all the memory/space of the internet browser. It isn't really a big deal, but just something I noticed. Other than those two points, I haven't really had any other problems with it. It looks great guys and I can't wait for more updates. |

A quick question. Do they have the the PWS enhanced buffer tube as an option?

View Quote No... Or should I say, not yet. There's a post in the gunstruction forum telling you which manufacturers are currently on board. I expect more will follow, but I don't speak for anyone, just my $.02.... |

You got it, we will be opening GUNSTRUCTION up to anyone who is interested but for now we have parts only from the manufacturers listed. |

love it. glad i got in on the first run. actual gun builder engine wise = still beta, obviously, but it does run and work very smooth. please give the option to easily remove or delete parts. also, couldn't find a "make a pic of this gun" option. part wise = the magpul FCS does not extend, but the builder lets it. small issue, yes, but just letting you know. View Quote Thanks for the input! We have a photomode, and performance settings in the list for upcoming releases. The FCS is a good find, we are aware of it, but haven't had the time to fix certain "special case" parts. If you don't mind could you post your system specs so we could get a feel for where our baseline needs to be performance wise? When you mention removing parts do you mean essential parts for the gun (receiver, grip etc), or are you talking accessories (scopes, foregrips etc)? We have considered the "remove" option at a part category level, but weren't sure if it would be something people wanted. |

Needs at least a small warning that your gun contains parts making it an NFA weapon.

First of all, great work so far! I can already see my social life slipping away...
But I was just wondering if you guys are going to add rail segments? Like for the VTAC rails or the Geissele rails? It'd be nice to be able to put a foregrip on my baby And I know this might be harder but maybe an option to cut up certain objects? Like for example the MagPul ladder rails? That way they can be modified to certain lengths instead of being kept the set length? Oh and you could never go wrong with more paint options. Again, loving the builder. Keep up the great work guys! |

Almost an exact replica of my current stag set up. Only a few differences.
