I wonder what promoted the sale of these at such low of a cost? Colts have been on sale at several vendors off an on lately. $899 AR15A4s. The $799 lightweight carbines at PSA. LGS has the SOCOMs "on sale" for $999. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile 899 a4 on sale where? Grab a Gun a month or so ago. They're not on sale anymore. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

These sale prices must be related to deals offered up by the manufacturer. I have an FFL and have checked pricing at some of the distributors. The prices are not that low on the wholesale level. I do wonder how the guns are getting thru distributors at that low of a cost. I have to assume that when deals come in, the distributors contact their best buyers and pass the deals on to them.

Mine will arrive at the house tomorrow. I will post pics as soon as the UPS man gets here and I open the box.

What is the difference between the SOCOM and other 6920s? I mean besides the rail.

I won't lose sleep over a missed deal. But the sale in the OP is an incredible bargain. |

Don't forget heavier SOCOM profile barrel. That SOCOM, which normally retails for $1,300, was selling for cheaper than when dealers have standard 6920's on sale when you factor in that it included free shipping (~ $30 value)! That would be like a standard 6920 selling for $700 shipped! Heck, you could have parted that rifle out and just kept the complete lower. At the end of the day, you would end up having a $100 or cheaper complete M4A1 stamped lower! |

Unfortunately my dealer holds for 24 hours (because of their volume) so I won't see mine until probably the 30th...

Mine is on the truck right now for delivery, I should see it in the next few hours. When it gets here, I'll unbox and post up some pics.

Still in route to my FFL right now. I'm picking it up in Alabama since it's going to my uncles pawn shop and to avoid the taxes the Florida residents would have to pay.

Yeah, how much do you want to bet that even though it says the knights rail, it shows up with the newer troys instead? The very reason I wont order one. I am pretty sure they are KAC rails...the company replied to the slickguns add and said that they used the wrong photos (recognizing that the stock photo was a Troy rail and not a KAC like the ones they had). I don't think it is impossible, and we will all find out shortly, but I think they'd have been going out of their way to misinterpret their products with an obvious understanding of the differences...They commented there and also took more pictures which were on their website and not the slickguns ad. Their pictures were of KAC rails too. At any rate, they are OOS now. |

Somebody else received theirs already in the Colt forum and said it indeed has KAC rails and came with two, 30 rd Colt magazines.
|

Yes, this is what I posted in the Colt forum:
Got mine today. Properly packaged and protected. Gun is brand new, in great condition, with good rollmarks. Proper F marked FSB and KAC rail. Matech BUIS. Two 30 round Colt Magazines, which was a pleasant surprise. Very, very pleased! ETA: I would definitely buy from these guys again. |
|
Yessss!
ETA: I'd buy from them again...they got swamped with orders, still replied to my emails, and shipped it all out very quickly. Honestly represented a product they sold at a great price...what's not to like? |
|
Dangit, UPS will probably get here soon. They usually come at 3 or so, but sometimes they are early. I wish they would get my rifle over here now.

Box indicate 2013 configuration, bag inside is stamped with 10/12. The gun has a few blemishes on it. Delta ring and lower receiver have bad blemishes, this is likely why these guns are so cheap. |

Not to cause a riot, but those aren't blemishes. That is normal Colt QC. It is expected with these guns.

Take a close look where the upper meets the lower. The surface is gouged out. There are a few other spots like that. Interesting take on these, that it is normal for Colt. I've never looked at a firearm in a store EVER that had these sort of marks on them and they were "new." You learn something every day. I was planning to just leave this one on my book and spin it out when the next panic hits. If you guys think a few marks is nothing, perhaps the eventual buyer will feel the same when I sell it. |
