I have attended some arfcom NorCal shoots in Yolo. We have some arfcommers in the path. Hope they are ok. Prayers out to them. Not likely an issue for us, but KCRA 3 puts us in the flood warning(assuming they are right). |

Maybe now is not the time for it to be a high priority but I would have to think most people in the area that would be affected by a failure do not have flood insurance.

Cause it ain't failed yet! https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/327183/IMG-7100-145645.JPG God Damned stupid motherfuckers. Open that primary spillway all the way. No kidding. They said the water over the emergency spillway is now only 2 inches, yet they are only running the spillway at 100,000cfs instead of 250,000cfs. It is like they are trying to cut this as close as possible. |

If the dam fails, how far will the flood waters likely reach?
|
|
Quoted:
Which means that the dam pretty much doesn't exist, and any rain makes flood. Any snow melt makes flood. View Quote True, but it makes for a gentle flood compared to the "mother nature's fuck you all hatestorm of water" that would happen if the actual dam catastrophically failed. |

I'm sorry. Did I just hear the Sheriff say that the Government DID NOT have flood models in case the E Spillway failed?
Fuck jail, these people need to be shot. |

View Quote If the espillway breaches, it'll eat out a hole that will keep getting wider and deeper, until it drains the entire lake. Catastrophic failure means the dam is or will be breached. And then later this week, the rain runoff will overflow the system again, the spillway WILL fail, another vac will be called, and people will ignore it because they cried wolf.... Wonderful. View Quote If I were Sheriff there would be no return to Oroville until the lake water level is well below the failure point of the spillway. |

Rewind to Wednesday and get-a-going. Are there any rocks in Cali or no? Might be better to drop all that salmon caviar. |

Often during disasters such as this the executive officers, for involved agencies, such as the police chief, sheriff, public health, fire chief, etc. get in a pissing match over who is "in charge" and the "incident commander" because they want the media attention for themselves and their department/agency (because they know that translates into political capital). It was a total shit show during that bridge collapse in Minnesota with police and fire leadership getting into it over who was in charge. Was like a dick comparison contest to see who had the bigger badge or mobile command center. View Quote |
