I take it everyone thought of modern music by the title of this thread.  I didn't, my mind went directly to early Church music:

Byzantine Chant:

Gregorian Chant:

Man I forgot how great this entire disc is.
Makes my “only 10 CDs on a island list”

kutless - Sea of Faces

The lyrics are packed with great theology and the music if flawless.
"Passion" gets me every time.

I had a meet-and-greet with him before a concert fairly recently.  During it, someone asked him about that story and he got seriously choked up...even all these years later.  You can tell how much he loves our Lord and it really inspires me.

That song rocks - if you get the "To Know That You're Alive" CD it should be on there - studio version.

Took the kids and friends to the Project 86/Finding Iris concert at Frisco United Methodist Church in Frisco TX last night. It was amazing! intimate venue, and we were front row for both the acoustic VIP show and the main show. Got to meet everybody from both bands and did a little moshing, too.

I don't really listen to any of the music you guys posted, but I'll say my favorite song is the Revelation Song sung at the Red Rock ampitheater by Kari Jobe.  Dial it up on utube for a listen.

My new favourite piece of Christian music is Georgio Allegri's Miserere Mei Deus, Baroque-style ornamentations inclusive, which in the case below is being performed by A Sei Voci.  I heard it (sans ornamentation) on the radio a few months ago (as performed by the Ensemble Caprice) and really liked it and a few weeks ago found the version with ornamentation and fell in love with it.  It is really sublime.  The lyrics are the entirety of Psalm 51 (in Latin, of course).
I also really like the music in Arabic for the Holy Friday mass, such as that in the second video.
Another one of my favourites is the Third Tune for Archbishop Parker (Why Fum'th In Sight) by Thomas Tallis.

Saw Red, Demon Hunter & Veridia Friday night at the Door in Deep Ellum (an entertainment district in Dallas).

Red and Demon Hunter ROCKED and I was pleasantly surprised by Veridia. Not as hard rock as Red and Demon Hunter, but still rock and Deena (the lead singer) has an incredible voice...and is easy on the eyes.
