Thanks for the link to the coupon.

Note it expires the 18th (saturday), so lets get out there and use them

I always watch out for ammo sales like this.

Last Fall I bought a case of remington core lokd 30/30. The shells were at a great "hunting season sale" price to begin with. Got $10 back from remington rebate and dicks took another 10% off for buying the whole case. I used a double points coupon on that purchase, too. (Every $300 spent you get a $10 credit from Dicks)

One hell of a deal all said and done.

A picture is worth 1000 words.

4 boxes rem 45 acp
1 box hornady 223
1 box rifled slugs
1 savage 22 mag

They first computed the sale prices, then knocked 50% off of everything, even the non ammo item.

Those boxes of 45 were 8 dollars each

I love you guys for this heads up.

I'm going back tomorrow.

So after a friend bought 1200 rounds of 223 for $330 + tax I went and bought the last 6 200rd boxes they had. We both picked up 1200 rounds for ~$350.

I got the last boxes on the shelf but am going to call back tomorrow and see if they have any more in the back and try it again.

The only time I got a funny look was when I arrived in the firearms section with a shopping cart and told the guy I wanted to buy some ammo.

I'm in Columbus, GA by the way.

I went back today and bought 6 more boxes of .45 for 7.99 each (as seen in my receipt in my prior days post).

Gotta love going from 19.99/box to 7.99/box.

I'll be going back tomorrow, maybe twice.

They were normally 19.99

They were on sale for 15.99/box.

Half off 15.99 is 7.99.

It's not supposed to be 50% for every box, and it's not supposed to stack with sales ... but it does.

Take advantage.

(you can see my receipt above that explains this)

I just got 2 boxes Remington 30/06 150gr PSP and 2 boxes Remington 30/30 150gr RNSP for $34. That should have me set for the next few hunting seasons.

Also noted that the local Dicks now has Winchester Dynapoints in a new carton. I need to go shooting.

I always thought the prices there were pretty high.  For example, I can still get 100rd boxes of WWB at Walmart for $15.72, which is under $8/50rds.  Does Dick's "sale" beat that?

When is the last time you had seen that price??? went yesterday to wallmart and 9mm was $23.00 for a one hundred box ,40 S&W was $28.00 a hundred and 45ACP WAS $32.00 a hundred,I guess they caught on to the going rates

Damn, I thought it was bad when they raised 9mm WWB value packs to $20; that was just a month or two ago!  Dunno what store you're at but I go to the one in Aston, PA.

WTF...I probably haven't bought a box for a month or two.

Shit, I just called - $19.97

Shoulda bought more @ $16

You were a member when people, such as myself, were saying it was time to hoard
two years ago when it was $11.98 a box.

Some said not to hoard because that would drive prices up.

So, are people still hoarding since the prices are STILL going up?

This was one of several purchases:

+1

But, between their sale and the coupon, I saved about $50 on my 6 boxes of .45

Also, the cashier was going to give me flack about it being a printed copy of the coupon and that, "Someone put this coupon on the internet when they shouldn't have. It was only supposed to be in the newspaper circular. We don't take reproductions but, we'll take it this time."

Picked up a 1k rounds of 9mm.  I also got a nice little bonus of "If you need that much ammo you must be a bad shot."  Gotta love the employees.

My total haul:

1k 9mm, 500 .45 ACP: $174.58, tax included.  Not counting the (2) $10 coupons off my next purchases of $50 or more for completing the online survey!

(Buy 10 or more boxes of 9mm, they're only $8.98, 10 or more of .45, .40, .38 etc are $14.98)

I thought the limit on that coupon was 6 boxes, so you cant get the case discount? Or can you just buy two cases and get 50% off?

The coupon says 6 boxes, but it discounts the whole order.

The guy at the Lodge said to tell them to make sure they rang it up the boxes at $8.98 and $14.98 because of the case price. The way I worded it to the cashier was to say that "These are only $8.98/$14.98 because of the bulk case price." Then gave them the coupon. They rang it up, and it took off 50% of the entire order.

Adding up the Amount Saved line on both receipts: $315.

Note: 500 rounds of 9mm and 500 rounds of .45 really bows in the sides of those plastic baskets.  Get a cart.

thanks a lot 556A2.
it took 5 of those DICK'S dicks to figure out my internet cut-out coupon.
i got 300 rounds of umc .357 125 jsp, for $63.24

Total savings of $78.00

ETA:  best quote of the whole deal, store manager; "Did somebody send you this coupon?"
Me  "Yea, somebody sent it to me."

It all depends on the cashier. One chick gave me 50% off on everything, and another guy the next day was smart enough to catch it. I still saved over $100.

I got 800rnds of brass for what I could have got 1000 of wolf for. I've never shot brass so I am happy to chalk it up to experience. Both in the check out line and the range.

So I went to Dick's. I didn't have a coupon, and no printer to print the one from their website, but I knew they had flyers in the store, so I went anyhow.

The slack-jawed yokel behind the counter said "Whatta you want?" I asked if there was a sale on ammo. He smirked and said, "I dunno. Is there?" I said I had heard there was a buy one, get one half off deal going on. He said I needed a coupon. I said I didn't have one, but I thought they had flyers with coupons in them. He said "Maybe we does." and then turned his back to me, and commenced to rapidly jabbing a wooden stick idly into the loading gates of the shotguns behind the counter. Wow. Amazing.

So I found a stack of flyers, but they didn't have the coupons in them. I asked a sales associate if I really needed a coupon, and that I was going to spend a good amount of cash on ammo if I can take advantage of the sale. He said I had to have one, and there wasn't anything he could do about it.

So I left. There was a Border's right next door, and I could have gotten a paper with the coupon in it, but decided not to, since Dicks didn't seem to care if they got my business or not. I realize it was a coupon sale, but do I REALLY need one? It's not like they're rare or anything, I mean, they have them available for download on the WEBSITE for crying out loud.

The last time they had this same sale, they had a coupon in the paper, but also had a sign at the ammo counter announcing the sale, and I didn't need a coupon then, so why now?

They sure made it needlessly difficult.

With their prices on .223 it still wasn't worth it even with the coupon. I did get two boxes of .357 Mag but the coupon rang up like normal. Wow their prices are bad.
